Ty Tessmann joins Pro-Line team

Pro-Line have announced that young Canadian Hot Bodies racer Ty Tessmann has joined their team. While still young, Ty is extremely experienced and successful having claimed 7th spot at the 2008 IFMAR 1:8 Off-Road World Championships and more recently taking 2nd place at the 2009 NitroCross World Championships. He continues to be a threat in the A-main at the most prestigious races around the country and the entire Pro-Line team is looking forward to working with him, and his father and pit man Gord, at races to come.

Team 966 wins 3 hour race at Oberhausen

The Team 966 with Tobias Hepp, Alain Levy, Frank Schewiola (all of them with Serpent 966) and young Jean-Pierre Roenicke (Kyosho) have won the “3 hour race” at Oberhausen, the heart of rc racing in Western Germany. When the checkered flag dropped the team had covered 482 laps and an advantage of 19 laps to Motonica Team Germany with Christian Wurst, Joerg Baldes and Uwe Baldes (all Motonica P81). Another 35 laps down was Team Odenthal Racing Parts with Ingo Odenthal, Ralf Vahrenkamp and Carsten Pruessmann (all Serpent 966).

Groskamp & Chi Hung win at Shepherd Asia Cup

The beginning of this month saw the 1st Shepherd Asia Cup held at the TRC race track in Hong Kong. In 1/10th scale the race was open for everybody while in 1/8th scale only Shepherd drivers could attend. To support the local drivers Shepherd Micro Racing has sent the international top drivers Jilles Groskamp and Daniele Ielasi. Additionally factory member Armin Weihert attended the event to help the 72 participants with all technical questions.

Heat has always been an issue with 1/8 high performance brushless motors, but with these new offerings from Speed Passion however, heat quickly becomes a problem of the past. The Silver Arrow 2.0 series motors from Speed Passion combine the high power current plug-in feature from the Competition V3.0 motors, which make use of low resistant 4mm replaceable connectors, with the rock solid Silver Arrow 1.0 platform. This combination can deliver extremely high speed and torque while cutting down 25% of the heat generated. A new simplified one-piece design also makes motor maintenance and dis-assembly very easy and trouble free. Yannick Aigoin wins 2009 Pierrefeu GP

The annual Pierrefeu GP took place this weekend in the South of France and saw some of Europe’s best drivers in attendance. Qualifying was based on a racers 2 best rounds and it was Kyosho driver Jerome Aigoin that took the top qualifying spot ahead of European B Champion David Ronnefalk in 2nd, with Yannick Aigoin and Nicolas Rodriguez rounding out the top 4. Following the semi finals it was Losi racer Yannick Aigoin that would start the 45 minute final from pole position. The race saw a clear win for Yannick, after an early battle with his brother Jerome, winning by over a lap at the end in front of Ronnefalk in 2nd spot, while European Championship podium finisher Martin Bayer took 3rd, 2 laps further back on the young Swede.
