Kyosho V-One RRR Evo 2

Kyosho have released information about their latest Kyosho V-One RRR 1/10th scale 200mm, the Evo 2. Designed to be a refinement rather than an all new design, the designers have worked on performance, stability and ease of maintenance. The main chassis plate is completely new with a narrower front end, while the radio plate has been stiffened up to improve drivability. The car also features the 2 speed gearbox from the Evolva M3, a new thicker revised rear shock tower and the rear of the car also sports longer arms to allow the use of 0-offset wheels.

VRC V4 Professional - VRC World Complex

The 2nd in a new monthly column from VRC, the games developers write about the new VRC World complex as well as some upcoming community features of the new V4 Professional version that is still in the works. Virtual Racing Industries has started the construction of VRC World, a brand new r/c complex at Virtura, DW. This complex will be the new head quarters of the VRI organization and will feature 4 outdoor and 2 indoor tracks.

Belgian EP Touring car Nats Rd3

The 3rd round of the Belgian 1/10th scale EP on road Nationals was run last weekend on the short and technical outdoor track in Zwevegem. The event had 33 drivers racing in two classes, EFRA and Super Stock and the weather was very good, with sun and high temperatures all weekend. It was again a hard battle in the EFRA class which produced the third different winner in 3 rounds. The race was won by Benoit Thomaes with his Xray T2 008, just ahead of the late Koen Joosens with his Schumacher Mi3, while 3rd spot went to Olivier Bultynck with his Team Corally Phi. In the Super Stock class the overall winner was Urbain Swijsen with his Team Corally Phi, while 2nd went to Rico Claeys with his Hot Bodies and 3rd going to Thomas Stockman with his Team Associated TC5.

Grimm wins German West EP TC Rd1

Last weekend saw the first round of the West Germany Electric touring car qualifying group run at the large MCC Bad Breisig/Rhein outdoor track. Xray team driver Christopher Grimm, who was using his new Speed Passion combo of GT Speedo and DMC legal Ultra Sportsman 9.5 BL motor, took the win ahead of current outdoor Champion Patrick Pasch in 2nd and Andreas Weyhoven in 3rd.

In Memoriam – Koen Joosens

Koen Joosens wins Belgium Championship

We were saddened to hear of the untimely passing of Belgian National Electric TC Champion Koen Joosens. The young driver was killed in a tragic accident on Wednesday the 7th of May. A Schumacher team driver and leading figure in the Belgian RC scene, he will be sorely missed by the racing community and everyone that knew him. Our thoughts go out to his family and friends.

Intellect IB4600 SHV cells

Trinity Products have announced details on the new Intellect IB4600 SHV cells. Featuring an all new internal construction, designed with safer application in mind, they feature an increased voltage of 1.24V and above. A much more stable cell, they are said to offer 50% more cycle life than previous versions, yet have the same specifications and dimensions of a normal cell. Available in limited quantities from May 16th.
