Yokomo USA sign Eric Epp

Yokomo USA have announced the signing of Protoform’s own Eric Epp to their factory race team. Eric has been a staple in the touring car scene for many years and has shown great speed on the track. Everyone at Yokomo is looking forward to this great collaboration with Eric and the all-new BD10 mid-motor touring car. Eric says: So excited about the new drive with Team Yokomo! Nagashima opens up Rd4 of OneTen Series with TQ run

…to young Marco Ma with the Serpent of Hong Kong driver Stick King rounding out the top 5. Asked about his run Yugo said, ‘the car is so so’, before going on to explain that the traction had increased since yesterday but thanks to a number of changes to his Serpent X20, including a different chassis and some major setup changes as well as reverting to a Turismo body from Protoform, had made the car slightly easier to drive but was still nowhere near where he wants it. Protoform have released a first teaser image of their forthcoming new body shell for the competitive 1/8th scale GT on-road classes. The Hyper-SS is supposed to be a “game changer” according to Protoform with with the teaser promising a low profile design that could assist handling for both nitro and electric-powered cars. Mächler & Kuenning win at Mon-Tech NYGP

…Alex came short of the win by a small margin, winning A2, and finishing only two seconds back in A3, starting from the 3rd spot. After some dramatic finals, Max Kuenning came in 3rd while up front Ollie Payne would walk away with the overall win. Jeff Dayger would top qualify the 1/12th SuperStock pan car class but after the triple A-mains to was Max Kuenning who would take the overall win after 2-1-1 finishes as Robbie Dodge came in 2nd with 1-2-3 results. WellRC Racing body cut template & starter box plate

A new brand is coming out of SoCal, WellRC Racing by nitro guru Walter Diaz. The first products are body cut templates and starter box plates. Starting with the WellCut templates, they were designed to take the hassle out of mounting ProtoForm R18, R19 and P909 bodies. They are placed on top of the body and accurately trace the cut lines for engine, air filter, fuel tank, roll bar, top end needle, and rear body post holes. Wang & Perez win at 2019 Protoform Cup

The Steel City R/C Raceway of Fontana, California played host to the 2019 Protoform Cup this past weekend, attracting 75 entries for the 1/10th and 1/8th scale classes offered. In Electric Touring Modified it was Xray’s JJ Wang with the overall TQ and also the win in A1 and A2 for an early overall victory from Yokomo’s Randy Caster on the runner-up spot. A hard-charging Rick Hohwart (Team Associated) recovered from P11 on the grid to take the final podium spot from Xray’s Lex Tyler who rounded out the top 4 results.
