The Slovenian 1/8th Nitro On-road Championship was held at the Tolmin track last weekend. Perfect weather conditions made for some nice days of racing with the action having started already on Friday. The qualifiers were won by ARC’s Nejc Mihelic who had his ARC team mates Valentin Mis and Simon Stelcl in tow in second and third respectively. A huge amount of tyre wear and a power and fuel-hungry track made for many different pit strategies. …with the A-main consisting of just eight, Nick Keown took the lead with his sport engine powered Xray NT1 and kept the car steady enough to claim the victory. Blake Bell and Luke Pittman would work their way up to 2nd and 3rd as TQ John Tsang and second qualifier KJ Jones suffered mechanical failures early in the race. Round six of the Swiss Nitro Buggy Nationals was held in Courgenay over the weekend. Team Associated’s Patrick Hofer would take the TQ after the qualifiers but team mate Ronny Lüber secured himself the pole position for the A-main event after a very quick run in the semifinals. With an 8th place in his semi, after a longer-than-planned pitstop, Patrick grabbed a very lucky 10th place on the grid.
