Ronnefalk & Canas successful at Buggyland 5.0

The Buggyland 5.0 race was held in Madrid, Spain over the weekend, attracting most of Europe’s front-running 1/8th off-road racers. In the Nitro Buggy class it was HB Racing’s David Ronnefalk with the overall TQ while the E-Buggy class was lead by Mugen’s Juan Carlos Canas. After the nitro semifinals it was Juan Carlos with the pole position for the 60-minute nitro buggy A-main and he would also lead for a good part of the race as he seemed able to counter any attacks of the hard charging David Ronnefalk. However Juan Carlos suffered a flameout and bad luck in the later stages of the main, meaning David was able to bring home the win a lap in front of Kyosho’s Elliott Boots while SWorkz’s Martin Wollanka took the final podium spot. Ricardo Berton and Joao Figueredo came in 4th and 5th and in front of Jörn Neumann and Juan Carlos Canas, who had to settle for 7th, some three laps short of the winner.

It’s no secret Xray are an extremely professional company who take pride in manufacturing the fastest cars out there, matched with quality second to none. I can’t wait to get started running the latest XB2 and XB4, both of which have already proved themselves at the highest level of competition. Kaja Novotny doubles at Czech Open Challenge Rd1

The opening round of the Czech Open Challenge electric indoor series was held in Ruzyne. The purpose-built track features a fairly easy layout that promised closes racing, however the pretty old carpet only offered low traction, making for a completely different feeling compared to today’s form of indoor racing. The 2WD class was quite a challenge for everyone due to the low traction, the linoleum parts, high speed corners and huge jumps. Marcel Dostal (Xray) was on point in Q1, but eventually Kaja Novotny (Xray) managed to snatch the TQ in that run. Optimising his buggy’s setup Kaja would also take the remaining rounds and also in the finals Kaja would pull away to take the overall while Marcel Dostal and Michal Blahovsky (Xray) battled it out for the overall with the better end for Marcel while Michal had to settle for 3rd.

The shock tower, that is designed for the use with the laydown transmission, is made of 5mm carbon fibre and it incorporates micro tune shock positioning by adding two in between holes to the standard positions of the stock shock tower. The needed mount is made of 7075 aluminium and is anodised black. The two raised portions on the base allow clearance of the transmission case when mounting a rear swaybar kit. On today’s extreme traction tracks less suspension flex is a must. This combo will deliver a more consistent driving car while also improving jumping.
