Kazuki Yamashita TQs & wins at 2019 Snowbird Nationals

The 2019 edition of the iconic Snowbird Nationals was held in Orlando, Florida last week. The race attracted the usual mix of national and international top drivers and in 1/12th GTP Modified it was Destiny’s Kazuki Yamashita from Japan, who took the overall TQ after the qualifiers in front of new Xray signing, Keven Hebert. In the single 8-minute A-main final Kazuki would hold the upper hand, taking the win from UK’s Ollie Payne (Roche) as Keven Hebert had to settle for 3rd overall. Xray’s Jan Ratheisky from Germany and multi-time Snowbird winner, Alexander Hagberg (Xray) would round out the top 5.

Brocca & Huber win at Swiss Indoor Champs Rd4

The Palapenz track in Chiasso played host to the fourth round of the Swiss Indoor Championship this past weekend. The race was held in several 1/10th and 1/12th scale touring and pan car classes and in the popular Formula category, attracting nearly 30 entries, it was Simone Brocca with the pole position after the qualifiers from Marco Donadelli in 2nd and Luca Marinelli in 3rd. After the triple A-mains the top 3 would remain the same, with Simone taking the win from Marco and Luca.

Xpress aluminium motor fan mount

Coming from Xpress is a lightweight motor fan mount for the XQ1 and XM1 series of cars. The CNC-machined and black anodised alloy mount screws directly into the existing rear lead weight mounting hole, sitting just behind the motor. The design prevents the fan unit from rotating on the mount while keeping the natural chassis flex intact and it is usable with the XQ1, XQ1S, XM1 and XM1S kits.

Tamiya M-07R chassis kit

Tamiya have released first details of their forthcoming M-07R M-chassis kit. The vehicle is based on the proven M-07 Concept and will include several performance-enhancing option parts such as the high-traction lower deck, TRF shock absorbers, reinforced suspension parts, 33mm double joint driveshafts, clamp-type aluminium wheel hex adapters, alloy gear diff outdrives, a Ti-coated suspension shaft set as well as a hard-coated pinion gear. The kit will hit stores by end of March.

Team Zombie Hollow Evolution motor cooling system

Team Zombie have introduced their new Hollow Evolution motor cooling system. The 40mm motor cooling fan features a dedicated duct-type housing that is part of the whole fan assembly, rather than just a computer-type can sitting in an additional case. The result are 12g of static pressure and thus exceptional cooling performance thanks to the optimised airflow design. The 6V to 8.7V compatible and dual ball-raced fan uses an injector-moulded case, it weighs in at 18.5g and complies with the latest Australian RCRA rules.

Dave Ceusters wins at Dutch Indoor Nationals

The Dutch Indoor Nationals were held at the Racing Arena Limburg this past weekend in several electric on-road classes. In 1/12th Stock it was Patrick Prinsen with the overall TQ from Carl van den Bulck and Dace Ceusters in 2nd and 3rd respectively. After the double A-finals however it was Dave Ceusters with the overall win, thanks to coming out fastest in A1 and A2 to take the victory from Andreas Reifferscheidt in 2nd and Car van den Bulck on the 3 spot.

Capricorn LAB TE04 2.0mm & 1.6mm upper decks

Coming from Capricorn and made for their LAB TE04 touring car are two new top decks. The narrow design carbon fibre upper decks are available in a thicker 2.0mm and thinner 1.6mm variant to increase torsional flex and thus corner speed when running the optional aluminium chassis. The top decks also help to fine-tune the car’s overall stiffness when running the carbon fibre chassis low to medium-bite conditions.

Jan Ratheisky joins Sunpadow factory team

Sunpadow has announced the signing of German top driver Jan Ratheisky. The Formula World Cup, multiple EFRA Stock and Formula European as well as multiple ETS Stock and Formula champion will be part of Sunpadow’s factory team, running the company’s competition LiPo battery packs while helping with research and development. Jan has the following to say:
