Swedish EB Buggy Championship – Report

Last weekend the Swedish 1/10th Buggy Championship was held at the Orebro Radio Bil Club race track. The track is of a very 1990’s style dirt design which always produces exciting racing in a different style than is the common norm today. To this added a very high temperature of over 30°C, adding another factor the racers had to cope with. In the 4WD class there was a showdown going into the final qualifier as both Alexander Landen and Wilhelm Skjoldebrand were in the mix for the overall TQ. Both drivers produced more or less flawless runs, while setting the two fastest runs of the day. Wilhelm however managed to slightly edge out Alexander, so Wilhelm would take the TQ.

JConcepts B6.1 series Aero rear diffusor

Coming from JConcepts is their new Aero rear diffusor for the Team Associated B6.1 series vehicles. A rear diffuser is a huge part of full-scale race car aerodynamic grip which has shown to improve performance. In off-road racing, ride-height, ground clearance and suspension travel substantially affect handling and are routinely adjusted to benefit one section of the track or another. It is difficult to install low-mounted aerodynamic features because of the general abuse off-road vehicles endure, however, JConcepts has taken on the task to mount another aero option. For the all-important balance between flat track tuning and elevation off-road features, JC has moved the diffuser into a higher position. The position, although not traditional, still provides affects of aerodynamics without limiting rear clearance. The item includes two pieces and can be fitted easily to popular vehicles like the B6.1, T6.1 and SC6.1. The aerodynamic device uses the same 3mm hardware as the rear ball-stud mount and it installs on top and is secure with the same screws.

Now available from Leadfinger Racing is the newly updated A2 Tactic body for the Kyosho Inferno TKI4 nitro buggy. The A2 body design for the MP9 TKI4 is the second generation to the original Assassin. Track conditions can have a drastic change over long race weekends, making the A2 the perfect choice for added tuning as the sleek and aggressive styling gives an all around balanced feel. The windshield has been given less rake then that of the original Assassin, easing steering slightly. Additional height has been taken out of the cab and widened front to rear, helping to lower the centre of gravity, and giving the car a more planted feel. The rear swoop behind the cab has also been lowered, with additional down force added to the top of the side pods. Bump outs have been added for throttle linkage and fuel tank clearance. The A2 body for the Kyosho TKI4 is made of thicker lexan, comes clear and ready for paint with window masks and stickers provided.
