Yokomo RPX-II Drift Spec speed controller

Yokomo have introduced their new RPX-II Drift Spec speed controller that is specially outfitted for demanding drift car racing. Rated at 160A the ESC can even handle high-powered motors and it offers a 6V/7.4V BEC system with up to 6A, allowing to use power-hungry digital servos and gyros alongside without missing a beat. Premium-grade FETs ensure a super low internal resistance for crisp power supply and a specially-tuned firmware with a factory-tweaked basic setup provides a unique control advantage on low-grip surfaces. Using Yokomo’s BL-WM WiFi module or the RPX-II programming box, the speedo’s software features can be individually tuned to meed the driver’s needs. The controller measures 32.9×34.6×19.6mm and it weighs in at 44g.

ARC Nitro Italy R8.0 series gearbox

Coming from ARC Nitro Italy is a new lightweight 2-speed gearbox for the ARC R8.0 and R8.1. Smaller in size than the original assembly the gearbox is also 10g lighter thanks to updated shapes and materials, it comes with harder springs and a reinforced 2nd gear bell. The results on the track are improved engine response especially in low RPM ranges, better acceleration and more precise gear shafts. In addition the gearbox is also more consistent over the course of a run, even in long mains, in high grip or high temperature conditions. The gearbox is a direct fit for both the R8.0 and R8.1.

Xray T4 0.25 degree eccentric RF suspension mount

Xray have introduced a new 0.25 degree eccentric RF suspension mount for the T4 touring car platform. The item moved the suspension pins slightly to the centre of the chassis and allows for more precise toe-in settings in 0.25 degree increments. The suspension hanger comes machined from high-quality 7075-T6 aluminium and it sports Xray’s signature orange anodising as well as engraved markings for easy identification.

Xray T4 extra-hard front bumper foam

Coming from Xray is an extra-hard front bumper foam for the T4’19 touring car that support both eccentric and standard front body posts. The bumper is hand-cut from a special, extra hard foam for improved body and chassis protection in severe crashes.

2018/19 Mibosport Cup Rd3 – Report

The third round of the 2018/19 Mibosport Cup was held in Hrotovice last weekend. Quiet a lot of racers celebrated their advent weekend on the track while listening to the sound crashing lexan with the final number of registered drivers stopped on the amount of 220. The starting grid was bolstered-up by competitors from abroad, with many top drivers making their entry, motivating others to be on their toes and bringing their best game. Friday’s free practise was the best way to do this and most of the racers took the opportunity seriously. In the premier on-road class of Touring Modified, Zdenko Kunak pulled away from the early beginning and dominated the whole day. A double victory in A1 and A2 meant meant the overall win as Oliver Havranek and Matej Sulc fourth for the runner-up spot. The final A-main would be the decider and Oliver managed to avoid crashes at the beginning and grabbed the 2nd spot overall in front of Matej. Kuba Simurda finished 4th and Radek Flek was 5th.

With quick and precise refuelling key to success in nitro racing, World Champions Infinity have released a high speed fuel stick to assist mechanics with making ultra quick fuel stops for their drivers. The wide cylinder body offers a strong grip during refuelling with the fuel released by the operation of a carbon trigger. The fuel stick features a guard to prevent accidental operation.

Mike Gee wins at 4th annual Stock Wars

The 4th annual Stock Wars race was held at 180 Raceway in Middle River, Maryland last weekend. In the Pro Touring class it was Mike Gee with the overall TQ and win from Sam Isaacs on the runner-up spot, making it an Awesomatix 1-2. Xray’s Robbie Dodge would round out the top 3 result. Over in Stock Touring Arvin Nano brought home the TQ and win from Tom Keiser 2nd and Bryan Thomas 3rd.

Shepherd sign Toni Gruber

Shepherd have announced the signing of top international nitro on-road racer Toni Gruber to their 2019 factory team line-up. The 22-year old German already looks back on a successful career with a European championship title, multiple national titles as well as multiple Euro Nitro Series podium finishes under his belt. Starting 2019 Toni will use the Velox V8 and the Velox V10 platforms at all major national and international events including the EFRA GP series, the ENS series, Euros, Worlds and other selected events. Furthermore Toni will bring in his experience in the Shepherd development team to test and develop new parts in cooperation with the existing team. Toni had the following to say about the deal:

First of all I want to thank WRC for the last 2 years. In the past we achieved great goals and claimed many wins. But in 2019 I will start with a new step in my rc racing career and I am really happy that Team Shepherd gives me the opportunity and their trust to drive for their factory team. My team and I are looking forward to many victories and we will bring our all experience in the team to help them grow.
