The iconic Andernach track played host to round 5 of the Tonisport Onroad Series this past weekend. The race was held in Touring Modified, Stock 13.5T, FWD 13.5T, Fun 17.5T and a Formula class and in Stock 13.5T it was Awesomatix’s Max Mächler with the TQ and win from Tamiya driver Dai Sakaguchi 2nd and Jacques Libar (Awesomatix) 3rd.

Round 2 of the Finnish IC Track National Championship was hosted by Hyvinkään urheiluautoilijat the past weekend under sunny conditions. In the 1/10th class, Panu Vehviläinen took the TQ honours but in the final Kim Elfström showed the better pace on the bigger and harder tyres and on the quite bumpy track. Taking over the lead, Kim was able to hold it to the end with Panu suffering technical difficulties later, just securing 2nd place in front of Sami Munck following 1.5 seconds behind.

Mugen have introduced a range of new option parts for the MTC1 electric touring car. First up are new HD gear diff internals that are moulded using a different material that is more durable, resulting in longer intervals between rebuilds and cleaner staying diff fluid, making the whole assembly also more consistent. Also new is a 2-piece set of steering collars that were designed to connect the A2301 steering shaft and A2307 servo plate with the result of an improved steering response in high grip conditions while also improving overall increased stability. Using this setup in lower traction conditions may however decrease the overall steering emphasis. Also new are S5 soft differential and P3 soft shock absorber O-rings that are made to improve the smoothness and response behaviour of the respective components by reducing the friction between the O-rings and the metal components. The O-rings are available separately in 10-piece packs.
Round 3 of the Portuguese IC Track National Championship was hosted by the Radiomodelismo De Benfica club this past weekend. The 1/10th 200mm Nitro Touring class attracted a total of 28 drivers and it was Xray’s Bruno Coelho who would lead the way by taking the TQ, pole position for the final and also the A-main win some six laps in front of Mugen’s Nuno Duraes. Shepherd’s Fabio Torres Ramos came in 3rd to round out the podium as Joao Malveiro and Pedro Silva completed the top 5 results.

The fourth round of the French 200mm National Championship was hosted by the A2tech club this past weekend. Xray’s Leo Arnold was in control of things all day as he took the pole position for the final, the win and also the overall championship title with one round to spare. Shepherd’s Basile Concialdi came in 2nd, some three laps down as Michael Derderian (Xray) rounded out the top 3 podium result.

Arrowmax have a new addition to their range of black-golden tools available in the form of a Centax clutch spring adjustment tool. It allows to easily attach and detach the clutch spring preload collar and it also comes in handy when adjusting the bite point of the clutch. Simon Kurzbuch is the Top Qualifier at the second round of the Infinity Euro Nitro Series in Germany. The reigning champion secured his 10th ENS career TQ when he topped the fourth & final qualifier at Minidrom Ettlingen and will start tomorrow’s race in front of Round 1 victor Dario Balestri. With Balestri taking the opening qualifier yesterday in the fastest time and despite Kurzbuch taking Q2 & 3 it all came down to the final encounter between the pair. While Toni Gruber would take up the early pace in Q4, a mistake from Balestri would allow Kurzbuch to go full attack for the TQ which he duly snatched it from Gruber on the final lap. For Gruber, P2 in the final qualifier means the WRC Racing driver will start the 45-minute Main from 3rd on the grid ahead of Robert Pietsch. Pietsch had an altercation with Jeffery Rietveld as they both went to start their runs resulting Pietsch running off the track. While Rietveld would run 4th for a time he would also fail to finish the qualifier but still the Serpent driver completes the top half of the grid behind the Infinity of Carmine Riola.

Having claimed his first ENS career win at the season opener in his native country of the Netherlands, Jilles Groskamp has backed it by claiming his first ever overall TQ at the second round of the Infinity Euro Nitro Series in Germany. Topping seeding yesterday, the 2015 Champion would secure his first ever pole position start with a second TQ run in the fourth & final round of qualifying. Denying Serpent’s Dominic Greiner in Q4, the Infinity driver will line up in front of the Serpent driver with Xray’s Alessio Mazzeo completing the Top 3. Going into the final qualifier in contention for his second consecutive overall TQ, unfortunately for Mazzeo he didn’t make the start after suffering an engine failure in warm-up. Behind the Top 3 former Ettlingen winners Teemu Leino, winner in 2016, and last year’s winner Eric Dankel will line-up 4th and 5th respectively ahead of Shepherd’s Thilo Tödtmann.
