Novarossi Mephisto .21 nitro on-road engine

Novarossi have introduced their all-new Mephisto .21 nitro on-road competition engine. The power plant utilises the new R4/18 conrod that was redesigned and is made from a special aluminium alloy for improved durability while retaining the low weight of the previous R4/17. Also new is the DLC-coated crankshaft with triple tungsten balance weights and silicone insert. The updated design optimises internal mixture flow while the lightweight shaft improves agility. The sleeve is of a 9-ports design with exhaust booster ports and the special shape ensures maximised performance while the compact 3-needle carburettor allows for better idling and quicker returning to low RPM after throttling. The engine’s features are rounded out by a new combustion camber insert specially developed for the use with 16 percent nitro fuel – a 25 percent insert is available separately – and they are topped off by a new 2-tone cooling head that provides optimised thermal efficiency and a low centre of gravity. The engine is available with all-steel or hybrid front steel, rear ceramic bearing.

Axon T4’18 big bore shock II dampers

Axon have introduced their new big bore shock II especially designed for Xray’s T4’18 touring car. The dampers are of the same construction, inner diameter and piston design as the previous version, however the shorter shock body length and an optimised piston position within the damper ensures full compatibility with the 2018 specification T4 while increasing corner speed and traction. Also the piston rod received a small update to ensure silky smooth operation which further helps with consistency and drivability. The shocks come in sets of four and they include aluminium upper and lower caps, the threaded shock bodies and pre-load nuts, as well as CNC-machined 3-hole pistons, piston rod, piston rod guides and O-rings. Not included are the needed Xray donor parts such as upper and lower shock eyelets, pivot balls, spring retainers, diaphragms and springs.
