Kyosho Mini-Z ball diffs & T-plates

Coming from Kyosho and made for their various Mini-Z micro cars are new ball differentials and FRP T-plates. The lightweight Ball Differential Set II is available in two variants for the MR03MM, MM II, RM and HM as well as the MR03LM and they include a lightweight spur gear hub for optimised left-right balance. The diffs are drop fits for the respective cars and include mounting hardware. Also new are two FRP rear T-bar sets for the MR03MM, LM and MM2 that are available in thinner 0.5mm and thicker 0.6mm variants. Both include three soft, medium and hard T-bars that are conveniently marked for easy identification. Using the optional suspension plates will have an influence on chassis roll and pitch stiffness, allowing to fine-tune the car’s behaviour in corners and over bumps.

Tamiya release new TA07MS teaser image

Tamiya are step by step uncovering their forthcoming TA07MS 4WD touring car. Following a first teaser the Japanese company has unveiled a rendering that shows more details of the single belt competition touring car that looks to combine design aspects – read: the suspension and bulkhead design – of the TRF419 series with a vertical top deck spanning from the front to the rear bulkhead, and a single belt that connects the front spool and rear gear differential. A prototype of the car was used by TRF’s Kiyokazu Suzuki at the recent JMRCA Touring Car Nationals with Kiyokazu eventually finishing on a promising 11th overall position.

Motiv MC8 1/8th scale electric brushless motor

Coming from Motiv is their new MC8 electric brushless motor for 1/8th scale applications. Of a 4-pole rotor and 12-slot stator design the 1950kV motor is ideal for both indoor and outdoor use and it features sensored operation, dual precision ball bearings as well as adjustable timing. The ROAR-compliant MC8 is 74mm long, has a 40mm diameter and it is available from now on.

HPI Racing 1968 Chevy Camaro body shell

Coming from HPI Racing is their new 1968 Chevrolet Camaro body shell, an updated version of the previous lid. The body is of a new multi-piece design with additional rear wing and it was developed for the use with 190mm and 200mm touring cars and offset VTA rims. Included with the body, that is made of high-quality polycarbonate, come photorealistic vinyl decals foe the window frames, headlights, grille, tail lights and more.

Philipp Stadler wins at Austrian EP On-road Nats Rd3

The third round of the Austrian Electric On-road Nationals was held in Imst, Tyrol last weekend. The race was held in Touring Modified, Touring Stock and Formula classes and the latter saw Andreas Stiebler taking the TQ after the qualifiers, tie on points with Andreas Teubl. With wins in A2 and A3 however it was Philipp Stadler who would take the overall win as Andreas Stiebler and Andreas Teubl had to settle for 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Joaquin De Soto wins at Sanwa Grand Prix

The 2018 Sanwa Grand Prix was held at Steel City RC Speedway in Fontana, California last weekend. In the 1/8th Open class it was Infinity’s Christian Lopez with the TQ after the qualifiers, however in the 30-minutes A-main Christian would score a DNF while up front Serpent’s Joaquin De Soto, who qualified in 4th, took home the win some three laps in front of Serpent teammate, Chris Velez 2nd. Bryce Butterfield (Xray) would round out the top 3 podium result.

Randy Caster joins Wallace Motorsports nitro team

Wallace Motorsports have announced the addition of top-level electric pro Randy Caster to their growing nitro on-road family. Randy will develop and test the WRC NTX 1.2 out in the expanding West Coast Racing scene as well as help to provide support for current and future WRC pilots. Randy brings a wealth of set-up knowledge and driving skill to the table and he had this to say about the new deal:

I would like to thank Wallace Motorsports for this opportunity! I’m very excited to get my new WRC NTX 1.2 with Ielasi Tuned power and Hot Race Tires on the track! Schumacher BTCC Rd4 – Report

The Fourth and penultimate BTCC 2018 took place this weekend at the super-fast Halifax track in the north of England. With the hot UK weather continuing drivers were trying to get the most out of their packages in these testing conditions. Once again in Modified the battle between Olly Jefferies and Elliott Harper continued, with some super close and exciting racing, it is awesome to watch two of the best drivers in Europe battle it out at our races. Elliott took first blood in qualifying but Olly clawed it back to take TQ honours overall, followed by Elliott and Matt White. Olly managed to hold station by just 0.255 of a second over Elliott with Matt third. Olly pulled a little gap in the second final beating Elliott by two seconds with again Matt third.
