Axon clear chassis protection film

Coming soon from Axon is a clear protection film that was designed to fit in the battery area of the chassis plate. Only 0.1mm thick and offering moderate slip, the protection decal is virtually invisible while ensuring exceptional protection from scratches and damages that can occur when dust or dirt collects under the battery pack during a run, ensuring the chassis will look like new for a long time. Due to not sticking to the battery pack, the protective film also only has minimal influence on the natural chassis flex. The product will hit stores about mid-April.

Tamiya TB-05 Pro touring car kit

Following first information on their forthcoming TB-05 Pro 1/10th scale touring car kit, Tamiya now released more information and also an image of the shaft-driven intermediate-level on-road kit. As expected the car will make use of the exoskeleton design that made the TA-07 Pro and M-07 Concept famous with the chassis looking like the TA-07 Pro but with the drivetrain layout of the TB Evo7 tourer – of which the TB-05 Pro will also adapt the ability for a front or rear motor position. Other features will include TB-04 design gear differential units, ball bearings, universal driveshafts as well as long TRF shocks, TA-07 Pro suspension components, a bulkhead-mounted steering assembly, and blue colour turnbuckles. The kit is compatible with TRF419-style swaybars and wheels and a high-torque servo saver will come standard with the kit.

2018 Serpent Cup Australia – Report

Last weekend saw the running of the 2018 Serpent Cup at Sydney’s John Grant International Raceway in Moorebank, NSW, Australia. With big numbers in each of the classes, the racing was hotly contested and humid conditions over three days hosted by the New South Wales Radio Controlled Car Racing Club. Mugen Seiki factory driver Jeff Hamon, competing in 1/8th scale, 200mm Touring and EP Modified over the weekend was the early pace setter in Nitro Tourer taking the TQ ahead of some very fast local drivers. George Karozis displayed a great turn of pace and consistency in qualifying, only to be out qualified at the final attempt by Serpent driver David Chen and the Xray driver Andrew Bardetta in the last round of qualifying on Sunday morning, while Tim Moylan, Ricky Kradolfer and youngster Braydon Stanley (all Mugen) rounded out the top 7 direct spots to the A-main final.

Manufactured and bottled in Europe the pure silicone oils are calibrated to ensure consistency from batch to batch and they come in convenient 80ml bottles as 300cps to 1,000cps shock and 1,200cps to 2.000.000cps diff fluids.

Awesomatix welcome Lucas Urbain

Awesomatix have announced the signing of French Touring Modified frontrunner and former ETS and Euros A-main finalist, Lucas Urbain to their factory team. Lucas will attend at all major races including all ETS rounds, the Euros and also the Worlds in South Africa. Furthermore he will be involved in research and development of the proactive Russian brand. The former VBC Racing driver had the following to say bout the deal:

I would like to thank Max and Oleg as well as the whole Awesomatix Team for granting me the opportunity to join them. I am looking forward to join or re-join a bunch of my long time racing friends in the team and getting the chance to compete with one of the most competitive car available on top of that. I will be put to the test as soon as this weekend as the ETS in Madrid is my first race with my new gear and I cannot wait to get started. Cheers, and see you all trackside!

2018 Nitro-West-Masters – Preview

The popular Nitro-West-Masters nitro on-road racing series is celebrating its tenth anniversary season this year. It all started in 2009 with the first race held at the Dueren track near Aachen. This forthcoming weekend the 2018 season will be launched with round one of six in Bad Breisig, located between Bonn and Koblenz at the river Rhine. Beside Dueren and Oberhausen, Bad Breisig has been part of the race calendar since the initial season 2009.

P-One touring car rear wing set

Coming from P-One is a touring car rear wing set for 190mm body shells. Included are two wings, one for low-grip and one for high-grip track conditions, both of which feature moulded-on side dams that improve aerodynamic performance and durability while making it easier to prepare a new wing. Also included is lightweight wing mounting hardware in the form of two moulded composite wing buttons and moulded counter plates.

Team C Racing 210mm mini GT body shell

Coming from Team C Racing is a new GT body shell for 210mm wheelbase M-style cars. It is of an aerodynamic design, includes an add-on rear wing for increased downforce and rear traction and it is supplied moulded from clear high-quality polycarbonate.
