Avid gold & silver Triad wing buttons

Avid have expanded their range of Triad wing buttons for 1/8th and 1/10th vehicles by two new colours. Adding to the already existing black, blue, red, green, pink, orange, hard anodize, purple are the new silver and gold buttons. Each weighs in at 0.3g, they are made of high-quality aluminium and come with silver edge details and laser-etched logos. Using an M3 flathead screw the wing buttons fit pretty much every 1/8th and 1/10th vehicle on the market.

Georgy Chmigal wins at Russian EP On-road Champs

The 2017 Russian Electric On-road Championships were recently held in St. Peterburg in excellent weather conditions. In the Touring Modified class Georgy Chmigal (Xray) was the man to beat, winning all qualifiers except of two and also coming out on top after the A-mains, taking the title from runner-up, Maxim Laverychev (Awesomatix) and 3rd placed Vladislav Glebov (Xray). Elsewhere in the supporting Nitro class it was Alexander Naumov (Xray) with the win from Nikita Ignatiev (Xray) and Sergey Piskunov. The Electric Touring Junior title went to young Andrey Egorov (Xray).

BMT 701 +1 steering block inserts

Coming from BMT and made for the 701 kit are the +1 steering block inserts. Machined from aluminium and coming with a natural finish the insets allow to adjust the king pin angle which can be a useful tuning option in certain track conditions. Depending on the orientation the king pin angle can be increased or decreased by simply flipping the inserts.

Arrowmax Asia Racing Cup finale – Announcement

The final round of the Arrowmax Asia Racing Cup will be held on the 13th and 14th of January 2018 at the Yatabe Arena in Japan. The event will see Touring Modified, Touring Pro Stock and also Formula 21.5T classes and the Pro Stock and Formula classes’ non-sponsored top finishers of the previous rounds will be receiving tickets for the grand finale in Japan.

Capricorn C-12P 1/12th scale pan car kit

Available from September is Capricorn’s all-new C-12P 1/12th scale pan car kit. Both the front and the rear end feature an adjustable ride height using calibrated shims, and the wheelbase is also adjustable within a considerable range. The chassis allows for in-line or transversal LiPo positioning and a big-bore centre shock, an ultra light, balanced wheel axle shaft and threaded body posts for step-less body height adjustments complete the list of main features.

3DRC C-Type maximum downforce touring car rear wing

3DRC have added another variant to their 190mm touring car rear wing line-up. The C-Type was developed with maximum downforce in mind. The straight-type wing features a gurney flap and stronger winglets which leads to increased downforce compared to the A and B-Type wings. The 3-D-printed wing fits all bodies with Protoform-style 100mm mounting pattern and it is available through the company’s Shapeways store and at select model shops.

Kyosho TF7 chassis upgrade set

Kyosho have introduced a chassis upgrade set for the TF7 electric touring car. The set includes a new fully symmetrical 2.25mm carbon fibre lower chassis whose specially selected material makes for increased traction while the new motor mount places the motor 2.5mm inwards for optimised left-right weight balance. The mount also allows to use different motor mount patterns and the set also includes a new centre layshaft mount, an alloy battery stop as well as a 2.0mm carbon fibre upper deck and mounting hardware.

Nitro-West-Masters Rd4 – Report

Last weekend’s round 4 of the popular Nitro-West-Masters series was also the official warm-up for the German 1/8th Nationals, which will take place at the end of August at Bad Breisig, located between Bonn and Koblenz at the river Rhine. A total of 72 nitro racers made their entry for the race weekend and experienced a great warm-up, also for the hosting club MCC Rhein-Ahr who did a perfect job, especially the outstanding kitchen crew. It all started with an additional practice day on Friday with plenty of track time for more than 20 drivers and continued with an intensive practice day on Saturday with a total of 80 sessions of six minutes each. Differently than forecasted, the weather on Saturday was perfect as well as on Friday and Sunday. As usual in the Nitro-West-Masters, a tight schedule on race day included three 7-minutes heats with the best three consecutive laps counting towards the qualifying results, 15-minutes sub-finals and the 30-minutes main events.
