JConcepts Spring INS7 – Announcement

Now in its 7th year, the JConcepts Indoor National Series has become the United States’ premier indoor offroad racing series and for 2017, the INS has once again raised the bar even further. With the huge success of the kickoff race at Smac Trac that featured superstar Ryan Maifield and rising star Alex Koscuiszek going on to win the 2WD and 4WD Modified class, the Spring INS heads to the Pacific NW; home of RC legend and track owner, Scott Brown. With the main “A” list factory drivers already confirmed for the event, the Spring INS7 will be the most star-studded event in the series’ 7 year history. Making the flight from Michigan, six members of the Factory Tracks Racing team including the Horne family and stock standout, Dreighton Stoub, adding to the talented pool of racers attending. Coupled with the tremendous amount of local fast cats at TRCR like Luke Smith, Ryan Matesa, and Harley Yoshii, May 19th to 21st is going to be a historic weekend in Tacoma. Raw Speed billet aluminium wheel nuts

Coming from Raw Speed is a 4-piece set of billet aluminium wheel nuts for 1/10th scale vehicles. Machined from high-quality material the wheel nuts are light weight, they have an aggressive knurl to ensure they don’t come loose on race day and they are usable on most metric off-road and on-road kits.

Rusti Design B64 carbon fibre option parts

Following their extensive line of carbon fibre option parts for the Team Associated B6 series of buggies, French brand Rusti Design has introduced several option parts for the B64 4WD kit. First up are a carbon fibre front shock tower as well as standard and tall rear shock towers. The standard parts match the kit geometry while the taller rear shock tower was developed for the use with longer 31mm shock body dampers.

Volker fastest in first controlled practice

Ronald Volker has set the fastest time in the opening round of controlled practice at ETS Italy. The Yokomo driver set the fastest 3-consecutive laps of the Riccione track ahead of Marc Rheinard with the big surprise being Viktor Wilck, the Serpent driver going third quickest.  Having set the pace over the 7 rounds of free practice from Rheinard & Volker, Bruno Coelho would post the fourth fastest time on the first of the two attempts drivers will have to determine the seeding for qualifying.  Returning to racing after a short illness, Viljami Kutvonen would post the 5th fastest time with Nicolas Lee completing the Top 6.

Tasos Paparegas wins at Northpark race

The Northpark track in Greece recently held an electric off-road race and it was Xray’s Tasos Paparegas who walked away with the win in the 4WD buggy class. Tasos would make a clean sweep, winning all qualifiers and finals to grab the day’s win from Xray team mate Kiprianidis in 2nd and Yokomo driver Mitsiopoulos in 3rd.

RPM B6 mini & wide front bumpers

RPM have introduced two front bumpers for the Team Associated B6 buggies. First up is a mini bumper that replaces the stock hinge pin retainer. It provides roughly 25mm of forward extension and nearly 49mm of width to help protect the front end of the vehicle. That means direct frontal impacts won’t transfer 100 percent of that damaging impact energy into the front bulkhead, chassis or shock tower. The mini bumper weighs in at a mere 7.5g and it is moulded from RPM’s own nylon mix.

Xray XB2D’17 Dirt Edition 2WD buggy – Coming soon

Just in time for the new outdoor season Xray have announced the soon release of the 2017 variant of their popular XB2D dirt edition 1/10th scale 2WD off-road buggy. As usual no official details about the new features are available but we keep you up to date on any progress.

Xray 6.8mm ball studs with backstop

Coming from Xray and made for the XB8 series of vehicles are 6.8mm steering knuckle ball studs with backstop. The pivot balls are available in a short 8mm and a long 11mm variant both of which feature an M3 thread and a hardened surface for less wear. Their design with backstop reduces the change to popping of the ball cup in the event of a crash or in a hard landing. The balls come in sets of two.
