Kyosho Le Mans 480T brushless motor

Kyosho is in full vintage swing these days, announcing not only their forthcoming Fantom EP-4WD vintage 1/12th scale 4WD pan car kit but also a nice brushless motor to go along with it. The 21.5T Le Mans 480T motor takes design cues of the original “8-minute racing” Le Mans 480T but it utilises modern day brushless technology for greatly increased power, reliability and of course it does away with the need to cut the commutator and replace the brushes. The power plant also features a 2mm longer motor shaft for easier pinion gear fitment with the unique Fantom EP-4WD drivetrain and it comes as 480T with a green label and green anodised end bells, but it includes parts to convert it into a blue-toned 480S, using a new sticker and blue end bells.

The drivetrain is equipped with an oil-filled gear differential and while the kit comes with a multi-part Formula E Gen2 body shell, the chassis is also usable with standard 190mm touring car body shells.
