Völker locks up pole position at EWS International

Ronald Völker has secured the overall TQ position at this year’s EWS International, after setting the fastest times in all three rounds of qualifying held today. Featuring the strongest line up in the event’s eight year history, the Yokomo pilot said he was “surprised” to have topped all three rounds, noting how close the top five were each time out. Making a number of changes throughout the day to his development Yokomo chassis, which features a number of parts in preparation for the BD10 release later this month, Völker said he was still chasing traction and will use tomorrow’s final qualifier to test some final ideas. Fellow German, Marc Rheinard, sits second after Saturday’s racing, the Infinity pilot taking a second and two third places today. Chasing his first win at the event, the Infinity pilot is also using a prototype car as the company looks to prepare it’s next generation of IF14 chassis. WRC Racing SBX.1 1/8th nitro off-road buggy

Following a couple of teaser images on social media, WRC Racing from Italy have finally lifted the curtain and officially unveiled their all-new SBX.1 1/8th nitro off-road buggy. Known for their popular on-road kits, the SBX.1 buggy is a first for the company and it builds on a 7075-T6 aluminium chassis that is designed to adapt the vehicle to a wide range of track conditions. The drivetrain is equipped with CVD driveshafts throughout, it features an industry standard 3-differential drivetrain with hardened lightweight outdrives and included in the kit is also a 7075-T6 aluminium clutch with captured clutch bell. The designers adopted a pivot ball front steering knuckle setup for the suspension that allows a wide range of adjustments including caster, camber, upper roll centre, bump steering as well as track width. Front and rear arms are side to side interchangeable, and it is possible to choose three different hardness materials for each one, hard, medium or soft. The rear hubs are designed in order to allow a variety of upper camber link positions and to allow the adjustment of the upper and lower roll centre, camber gain and more. Other features of the buggy include front and rear 7075-T6 aluminium shock towers to which mount big bore shock absorber. The buggy is decked out by a cab forward body shell and it will become available very soon.

Xray T4 aluminium ball bearing hubs

Xray have introduced their black colour aluminium ball bearings hubs for the front and rear bulkheads of the T4 touring car. Formerly only available in orange colour, the new variants feature a black surface coating and white laser-etched markings for easy identification and a cool new look. Using the aluminium hubs over the standard kit composite items will reduce natural drivetrain drag as the bearings are less pinched, resulting in a more free spinning drivetrain which is essential especially for stock racing classes. The hubs come in sets of two and they are usable on all T4 series cars.
