AKA Catapult & Typo 1/8th buggy tyres

Available very soon from AKA are the new Catapult and Typo 1/8th buggy tyres. Starting with the Catapult, the tyre that helped David Ronnefalk to win at the 2014 Dirt Nitro Challenge is designed to offer a good balance of tread life and traction on dusty, abrasive tracks. The larger lugs keep wear at bay while the “C” shaped treads dig through the dust to find grip. The tyre is available in AKA’s super soft, soft, and medium compounds.

Protoform anti-tuck body stiffeners

Protoform introduce the anti-tuck body stiffener set for 190mm touring car bodyshells. Made from stiff lexan, the one-piece stiffener fastens inside the rear the body with three simple screws and nuts. The pieces are custom formed to fit the curvature of the lower rear fenders for a perfect fit. Not only will this system virtually eliminate body tuck, but the added rigidity will also aid unwanted fluttering or deflection of the rear of the race body at high speeds. Weighing in at only 4.5 grams, changing the weight bias or centre of gravity of the car is minimised. Each set comes with two body stiffeners, mounting hardware and a decal sheet.

Xray Challenge Grand Final – Announcement

Xray will hold their Xray Challenge Grand Final on the weekend of the 4th of May at the famous Hudy Racing Arena in Trencin, Slovakia. Run on the outdoor asphalt track the race will see Touring Car Modified, Touring Car 17.5T Stock, Formula 1 and World GT classes along 1/10th and 1/8th nitro on-road racing. The weekend starts with free practice on Friday afternoon, Saturday is reserved for more practice and the first qualifiers with the final round of qualifying and the mains will take place on Sunday. Gene Husting Commemorative Members Only jacket

In honor of Gene Husting, Team Associated has produced a limited number of Official Members Only Iconic Racers jackets with an old-school Team Associated patch. For as long as anyone can remember, Gene Husting, an industry icon with racing in his blood, wore a Members Only Iconic Racers jacket. Reds Racing R7 Evoke buggy engine

Reds Racing introduce their latest high-performance .21 off-road engine in the form of the R7 Evoke. Limited to 300 pieces worldwide the engine is designed with improved fuel efficiency, performance and reliability in mind and it is specially aimed at the use on low-bite or short circuits where the special torque curve of the engine can give an advantage. Featuring a 7-port liner with exhaust port boosters the engine also comes with a silicone-filled, balanced and tuned crankshaft, new front bearing, rear ceramic bearing, a RDC hard-coated back plate and a long needle carburettor. The engine is hand-built by Mario Rossi and leaves the engine inspected and compression checked.

Hudy self-locking aluminium M3 nuts

Made not only for Xray cars but many other chassis and applications are these anodised M3 aluminium nuts from Hudy. They are available in blue, black and orange colour, feature a nylon insert to prevent them from becoming loose during use and the nuts come in sets of 10.

Xray XB4 aluminium servo mounts

Designed for both the XB4 4WD and XB4 2WD buggy are these servo mounting brackets from Xray. They are machined from 7075 aluminium and come black anodised to replace the stock plastic mounts with stiffer and more reliable parts that also increase the steering response especially on high-bite surfaces. The servo are available in a set of two pieces.

RB Speed 21 nitro on-road engine

Made for competition 1/8th on-road racing is RB’s new Speed 21 engine. Offering a 7+2 port design, 14mm crankshaft and a reinforced crankcase the long stroke engine also comes with a light yet strong competition conrod and turbo combustion camber insert. Other features include an 8mm nylon carburettor and a balanced 14mm bi-turbo crankshaft. New for 2014 is a redesigned orange anodized cooling head and the engine is available separately or including an EFRA 2092 in-line exhaust.
