Orcan GT7 .21 on road engine

Having written briefly about this new engine in the past, SMI Motorsport have released their first .21 on-road engine, the Orcan GT7. This new motor is excellent value for money and being based on a Novarossi it is easy to adjust and deploys its power evenly across the power band to ensure great driveability making it highly competitive. Additionally the Orcan GT7 is available as a MH version, optimized by engine tuner Michael Heinrich. The MH version is completely re-worked and comes with a modified liner as well as a crankshaft with a revised timing to provide more power across the whole RPM range. At the launch the GT7 is only available in combination with a pipe (EFRA 2015) and a short manifold and the set comes in an Orcan multifunction bag.

Murnan Modified RBM3 .12 engine

Murnan Modified has announced that their RBM3 engine for 2011 is now available. The engine has an increase in power over last year’s model, without sacrificing much run-time. In development over the past year with feedback from some top level on road drivers, at top level on road racing events around the world, the new design has been track and dynamo tested to ensure that it is faster and still easy to tune. The engine is also still getting enough run-time to easily finish a 5 minute qualifier in any conditions, even with the most aggressive drivers. The power increase can be attributed to the new sleeve, crankcase porting, new crankshaft timing and a special ceramic main bearing. The crankshaft also has a new, more balanced design, which helps overall power and r.p.m. while the new carburetor allows for very easy tuning and restarting when the engine is hot. Finally the new cooling head design keeps the engine temperature over 20 degrees cooler than last years model.

Protoform J71 Trans-Am body

Protoform J71 Trans-Am body

After receiving many requests, Protoform has released it’s rendition of the 1971 Trans-Am Championship winning car. The addition of the J71 to the VTA scene will surely add new excitement and drama to an already diverse class of racing. The J71 features all the unique styling cues of the original car as well as a molded in rear spoiler. The front of the car features an add-on nose with air dam. When mounted with shoo goo and 2mm screws it becomes an integral part of the body. Because this area of a race body is the most prone to racing wear and tear, a second nose is supplied with the body. This configuration allows for molding a lightweight, durable .030 lexan body, which in turn aids the handling ability of any VTA chassis.

Smokem Hot Bodies TCX-FX chassis

Smokem Hot Bodies TCX-FX chassis

The Hot Bodies TCX gets the Smokem treatment with the TCX-FX chassis. Firstly they have reduced the width of the chassis by almost 10mm and with an overall width of only 94mm, scrubbing during hard cornering is minimized. The 2.2mm thick chassis has been designed to provide additional flex to deliver more grip and a wider tuning window so you can dial-in your car in over a wide range of temperature and track conditions. Other improvements include 2 additional LiPo support holes, which allow you to install locating nuts to bring the LiPo battery 5mm closer to the centerline of the car. We have also added front and rear balancing holes so you can balance your TCX with balance pins. All this translates to a faster car over a wider range of conditions.
