Kesküla & Mere win 2nd round of Estonian Off-road Cup

Estonian Off-road Cup Rd2

Another report from Xray, this time from the 2nd round of the Estonian Off road Cup, held on a brand new track in Tartu. Qualifying for the buggy class saw the pole position go to Rando Mere, while in the truggy event the top spot went to Jaanus Kesküla, racing the new Xray XT8. In the buggy final the battle was between pole man Rando Mere and Jaanus Kesküla, but an engine stall from Kesküla dropped him out of contention and the win went to Mere, followed by Keskula in 2nd with Taivo Murumäe in 3rd. In the truggy final it was a battle between the Xray team mates Kesküla and Andres Käver until a loose servo horn on the 21st lap dropped Käver back to the middle of the pack as he had the problem fixed. Back on the track and Andres could push his truggy and managed to make his way back to 2nd where he finished, 5 laps down on Kesküla who took the win, while 3rd spot belonged to Martti Siimsen.

Nejc Drole wins Rd2 Slovenian TT Nats

The 2nd round of the Slovenian Nationals for gas off road took place at the weekend in Ljubljana under very hot weather, with the temperature reaching over 33 degrees. Qualifying saw Mugen racer Nejc Drole take the pole position and in the race he lead from start to finish taking the win by 4 laps from round 1 winner Zdenko Gačar driving a Laro, while his team mate Izidor Tratnik came home in 3rd on the same lap. In the 1/6th scale category it was a win for round 1 winner Rok Bizjak from 2nd place Anže Černe with the 3rd place going to Jakopin Tilen, all top 3 drivers racing the HPI Baja. There will now be a break for the summer with the next round to be held in Maribor on the 30th of September.

Dario Vita wins Rd1 German Truggy Nats

Dario Vita wins Rd1 German Truggy Nats

The first round of the German truggy Nationals was run last weekend in Oberahusen and it attracted a lot of the top stars from the German buggy scene who, it turned out, could easily adapt to the bigger cars. In qualifying it was Mugen racer Marcel Guske that took the TQ from Kyosho racer Daniel Reckward in 2nd, while in 3rd it was Dario Vita for Mugen. Whit the semi finals finished it was onto the final where there was a close battle between Guske and Reckward, which ended in a pitlane crash that badly damaged the car of Reckward, leaving him out of contention, while Guske suffered shock damage which he had to drive the rest of the race with. After the crash it was Vita that took over at the top and who went on to take the win from Guske in 2nd, while 3rd spot fell to Tobias Schellen, making a podium sweep for Mugen.

ROAR Nitro Buggy Nationals on LiveRC

The guys from Live RC asked us to tell you about their free live coverage from this weekends ROAR 1/8th Nitro Buggy Nationals, which is held at the St. Louis Dirt Burners track in Missouri.

This year’s U.S. ROAR 1/8th Nitro Buggy Nationals will have one of the largest turnouts for this class in ROAR history. The buggy and truck nationals have been separated this year, and there are currently nearly 300 entries for the 1/8th Scale Buggy class. With this year being the qualifier for the upcoming IFMAR World Championships, which will be held in the USA, all of the top names from around the country are in attendance.

All of the action with live scoring, live audio, and live video will be broadcasted on LiveRC.com. The audio will be streamed live, free of charge to all viewers courtesy of ROAR. Video will be streamed free of charge to all viewers courtesy of Pro-Line Racing.

We briefly wrote about the Top End Nitro Challenge that was run last weekend at at the OCR Raceway, and which allowed OCM racer Ian Haley to take home $3000 in prize money for winning the overall event. Jerome Delcourt wins GP of Courcelles

We have a very brief report on last weekends International GP of Courcelles, held close to Charleroi in Belgium. Qualifying saw Team Losi 8ight driver Jerome Delcourt claim the pole position, and with it a EUR 100 bonus, before going on to take the win in the main final and pocketing a further EUR 600 prize money. Another Losi driver Guy De Weerd finished the day in 2nd, picking up EUR 300 for his troubles and on the final step of the podium was Xray driver Cedric Nickell who walked home with EUR 150.

Renaud Savoya takes Rd4 of French Nats

The 4th round of the French 1/8th buggy Nationals took place at the weekend at the LMRC track in Limoges, in the center of the country. The weather was fine for this race and in qualifying it was Xray driver, and round 3 winner, Yannick Aigoin that claimed the fastest qualifying time, and to confirm his pace he went to break the track record his Semi final to take the pole position spot for the final, ahead of Mugen race Renaud Savoya. The main final saw a close battle between the 2 racers and while other racers ran into trouble, like Guillaume Vray and Jerome Aigoin, the pairing kept battling till the end, with Savoya taking the win by less than a second from 2nd place Aigoin with Crono racer Jerome Sartel finishing 3rd.

Robert Batlle wins Rd3 of Spanish TT Nats

The 3rd round of the Spanish 1/8th gas off road nationals was held last weekend at the Fene buggy track in the North West of the country. Qualifying saw the fastest time go to GS racer Richi Gomez with Hobao racer, and round 2 winner, Robert Batlle setting the 2nd fastest time while after the Semi finals it was Batlle confirming his pace with the final pole position ahead of Borja Hernandez in 2nd. In the final Robert could pull away easily and take the win by over a lap from Mugen racer Hernandez who came home 2nd, with a closing Antonio Jesus Gomez, racing for Hobao, ending the race in 3rd, only 3 seconds behind 2nd place.
