Juan Carlos Canas sweeps Sevilla Championship Rd1

The opening round of the Sevilla-Huelva Championship was held at the Lebrija track last weekend and it was Mugen’s Juan Carlos Canas with the TQ and win in the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class. Juan Carlos would have a pretty easy main, leading from start to finish as HB Racing’s David Ronnefalk, coming from the 3 spot on the grid, obtained the runner-up spot. The podium was rounded out by Agama’s Dani Vega, who started from P7.

JConcepts Super Cup Championship Series Rd2 – Report

Round 2 of the 2018 JConcepts Super Cup Championship Series made its way over to Newberry, Florida, home to one of the raddest RC tracks in the Sunshine state. Without a doubt, the size and premise of Newberry’s track are just about perfect for a 1/10th scale outdoor track. With a dialed, low-style driver stand to bring you closer to the action is a recipe for an exciting time in Newberry. Florida’s winter is actually nice for those who aren’t accustomed to 20°C weather in early February. However, since the track is located in an open field, constant wind gusts combined with below 5°C temps did make it a “cold” day by Floridian standards. Nonetheless, the sun did shine reminding everyone the beauty of outdoor racing. With nearly 190 entries on hand, the energy was soaring and the racing top notch.

SBS Off-road Major League Rd1 – Report

Round 1 of the SBS 1/10th Electric Off-road Major League was held at Syahmi’s Backyard Speedway in Sungai Buloh, Selangor, Malaysia over the weekend. The excellent weather made for very good racing conditions and a total of 39 racers that attended the three classes of Open 2WD Buggy, Open 4WD Buggy and Open 4WD Short Course. 2WD Open Buggy, which recently saw an increase in racers, was as competitive as any other racing class. Mark Lim from Singapore took Q1 with 10 laps 5m 7.18s while Kum Yew, also of Singapore, bagged Q2 and Q3. However his time was not an improvement over Mark’s, handing him the TQ spot. WK Foong completed the top 3 qualifiers on the grid.

Adrian Wicaksono wins at 2018 MRCC Buggy Challenge

The 2018 MRCC Buggy Challenge was held this past weekend at the MRCC track in Medan, North Sumatera, Indonesia. The 9th edition of the race was attended by 27 racers from Jakarta, Bandung, Batam, Banjarmasin, Pontianak as well as local drivers and after four qualifying rounds it was Jason Nugroho (Xray/Novarossi) the TQ honours. However after the 45-minute A-main it was Adrian Wicaksono (Mugen/O.S.) with the win from Jason in 2nd and Stanley Wangsanegara (HB Racing/O.S.) who completed the overall top 3 result.

Tanner Day takes 2018 Winter Invitational win

PDX RC Underground of Portland, Oregon held their 2018 Winter Invitational this past weekend and in the 2WD Invitational class it was Yokomo’s Tanner Day with the overall win from Chris Jarosz in 2nd. Joe Pillars would round out an all-Yokomo podium with Andi DiBrino (Yokomo) coming in 4th and Kyosho’s Zack Rogers completing the top 5 results.

Mizan TQs & wins SBS Major League Rd1

The opening round of the Malaysian SBS 1/10th Off-road Major League was held this past weekend in several electric off-road classes and in the 4WD category it was Serpent’s Mizan with the TQ and win from 2nd placed Hakeem (Sworkz). Bashir, driving an Xray, would round out the top 3 podium result.

2018 Indoor Silver State – Announcement

The Dirt have announced the 2018 Indoor Silver State race will be held on from May 3rd to 6th at the The South Point Hotel/Casino-Spa in Las Vegas. Due to the overwhelming response to the new venue, the organisers had to add a day to the race schedule that now sees the Wednesday as pit setup and registration day and Thursday as a full practice day. Classes run are 1/8th Nitro Buggy, Nitro Truck and E-Buggy with the nitro classes being divided into the usual Intermediate, Expert, Pro and 40+ categories. 2018 JConcepts MT event schedule – Announcement

2017 was a monster year for JConcepts as the iconic company attended and supported some of the best, action packed R/C monster truck events from around the nation. For 2018, JConcepts has decided to step it up to the next level, filling out a schedule fueled by their passion and love for R/C monster trucks. The year kickes off on March 22nd to 24th at the Monster Jam World Finals where JConcepts will take part in the R/C Monster Jam World Finals Performance which coincides with the Monster Jam Party in the Pits in Las Vegas. This is the perfect opportunity to Meet and Greet with some of the world famous Monster Jam drivers during the pit party and take in some R/C monster truck action. After kicking off the year with the Monster Jam World Finals Performance, JC invite you to bring your trucks and compete at the other thrilling events filled with ultra-competitive side-by-side bracket-style racing in various classes like Pro Mod, 2.2, Retro, etc. An event set out to be different from the rest is the 1st Annual JConcepts MonsterCross held on May 5th to 6th in St. Beaver, PA. Borrowing ideas from 1/10th scale off-road racing, multiple trucks will go wheel to wheel in heat races to sort qualifying for Sunday’s main events.
