First of all I would like to thank the people at Modelcar, in the form of Luis and André for believing me at the very start of my career and helping me get through to this stage, I wish you all the best luck on your future endeavours. Then a very BIG thank you to all the guys at TLR that ever helped me (Todd, Jerome Sartel and Ryan, Jerome Chambon and Adam Drake while they were there). Edward Sio wins Philippine Nitro Truggy Nationals

Edward Sio wins Philippine Nitro Truggy Nationals

The 2016 Philippine Nitro Truggy Nationals were held at the Circulo Verde Track in Quezon City, Philippines. Hot and sunny weather made for a nice day of racing and right from the opening qualifier the race for the overall TQ was on between Edward Sio and Jordan Go. Edward took the opening round but Jordan came out fastest in the following qualifiers, handing him the overall TQ with a time of 7 minutes and 5 seconds. In the A-main, Jordan started from the pole position followed by Edward and Clemen Pancho. During the opening 25 minutes Jordan kept the lead with Edward on the 2 spot, about 20 seconds behind. Nani Tagle was hot on the heels of Edward and both would eventually swap positions at the pit stops until Nani had to retire after a bad landing of his truck. This promoted Clemen into third and up front and with about ten minutes to go, Jordan’s lead slowly decreased from 20 down to three seconds. About four minutes from the end, Edward was chasing Jordan hard and when the latter came in for a final splash and dash, he suffered a flame out but despite a quick restart, Edward Sio (Mugen/Novarossi/AKA) was able to take the lead and with it the win and overall title from Jordan Go (Mugen/Novarossi/AKA) in second and Clemen Pancho (Mugen/Novarossi/AKA) third.

Thanks to Edward Sio for the report.
