Burak & Berkan Kilic join Graupner

Burak & Berkan Kilic join Graupner

German up and coming youngsters Burak and Berkan Kilic have signed a deal to run Graupner electronics in the 2016 season. The two will rely on Graupner’s new HOTT radio system, Graupner chargers as well as speed controllers and motors while Berkan will also utilise O.S. Speed nitro engines to power his Agama cars.

Czech Xray Winter Series Rd3 – Report

The third round of the Czech Xray Winter Series was held in Kolin. The event saw the running of both electric on-road and off-road classes with the off-road cars being required to run slick tyres. In the Touring Modified class it was Vitezslav Hola who grabbed the day’s win from Roman Korinek in second and Alex Tlusty in third. Jirka Tlusty and Jirka Kolman would round out the top 5 result.

Arnaud Buffat wins at SIORC series Rd3

Round 3 of the Swiss SIORC series was held in Geneva last weekend. The 2WD class had Arnaud Buffat walking away with the day’s win from David Naldini on the runner-up spot. Cham Dassanayake would round out the top 3 result in front of Cyrille Gruaz and Didier Baltensperger.

Pro-Line Racing has announced the return of US frontrunner, Jared Tebo to their team. The former World Champion only announced his departure from long-term tyre sponsor AKA some weeks ago and he is now back with Pro-Line Racing to use their tyres and accessories. Jared has the following to say about the deal:

Travis Amezcua teams up with Maclan Racing

Maclan Racing have announced the addition of former National Champion and multi-time Worlds Finalist, Travis Amezcua to join their racing and development team for 2016. Travis has already been working with Maclan to develop its new line of high performance motors and speed controls. Travis’ first official outing for Maclan Racing will be at the 2016 Reedy Race of Champions that Red RC will cover live from Thursday the 21st on.

Cyprian championship title for Andreas Thrasyvoulou

After winning four meetings of the 6-round Cyprian championship Andreas Thrasyvoulou (Xray) has taken the 2015 1/8th Nitro Buggy championship title. Simos Tikkis (Kyosho) ended the season on the runner-up spot followed by Kyosho team mate Marios Christodoulou in third. Soteris Taifas (Kyosho) and Andreas Theodotou (Xray) round out the top 5 result.

Kaja Novotny doubles at Open Challenge Rd5

Round 5 of the Czech Open Challenge was held in Prague with about 100 entries for the race. The 2WD Buggy class had Kaja Novotny taking the TQ from team mates Milan Mudra, Jiri Benes and Max Gotzl. In 4WD it was again young Kaja who came out fastest, this time in front of Max Gotzl, Milan Mudra and Frantisek Kalenda to make it another Xray top 4 lock-out. In the A-mains the Kaja show continued as he easily won all mains to take the victories in both classes. Milan Mudra and Max Gotzl would sideline Kaja on the podium both in 2WD and 4WD to make it a perfect weekend for the youngsters.

Cole Ogden wins at the Colonel's Winter Classic

The Colonel’s Winter Classic was held in Savannah, Georgia this past weekend and the event started out pretty wet as Friday’s practice was rained out. Saturday the drivers were greeted by a muddy track that became pretty tacky by the start of the qualifying. Qualifiers were then shortened due to the call of making a 2-day race, into a 1-day race as rain was approaching for Sunday’s main day. The nitro mains would finally come around at 1 am and in Nitro Buggy is was Cole Ogden who would lead the main from start to finish to take the win from Griffin Hanna. Elsewhere in the Nitro Truggy main it would be veteran racer JR Mitch taking the win from runner-up Cole Ogden.
