Last Saturday IERC Raceway hosted their Inaugural Toys for Tots race which attracted a total of 165 entries. The weather in southern CA. was cold and rainy so Team Losi Racing / Pro-Line driver Adam Drake grabbed his electric vehicles and headed indoors. Drake competed in and won the 4wd Short course class as well as the 1/8th buggy class.

The 3rd Annual KO Propo Off Road Championship is back at West Coast Raceway from the 5th to the 6th of January. With over 200+ entries last year and names like Cavalieri, Tebo, Kinwald, Hartson, Numedahl, and many international racers in attendance it’s going to be another amazing event hosted by KO Propo and West Coast Raceway. Since the first year of existence, The KO Propo off Road Championships has had a very similar format to qualifying but when it comes to Main day they’ve incorporated a Bump Up Triple A format where you’re never, ever out of it. The fourth round of the 2012-2013 FORCE Series was held this past weekend in Tampa, Florida at Hurricane R/C Club. Competition was at an all time high for Florida’s Premiere Off-Road Series with 144 entries. Coming into the weekend the track crew at Hurricane R/C Club and the promoters of the FORCE Series had a lot of work ahead of them prepping the track from all of the rain the track received early in the week. As always the track crew did an awesome job and had the track ready for Friday’s practice.

JConcepts team driver Michael Paige attended the 2012 Holiday Barn Burner hosted by RJD Hobbies in Lincoln Illinois. This Horizon Hobby sponsored event went well for Paige, TQing 2wd buggy, 4wd buggy and 2wd short course. Races started at 11am and finished up around 9pm in the evening. It was a long day, with good competition and very competitive racing. Paige went on to win 2wd buggy and 4wd buggy running JConcepts Bar Codes in Green Compound and took 2nd in 2wd short course and 2nd in 4wd short course with Green Pressure Points. Fellow Teammate Ben Ellis took 1st in 2wd short course and TLR driver Zac Rose took 1st in 4wd short course.

With multiple cameras, commentary from Scotty Ernst and Charlie Suangka and interviews following the race, sit back and enjoy the one hour final which saw Spain’s Robert Batlle crowned World Champion.
The 2012 ROAR Region 4 Off-road Championships were hosted by the ever increasingly popular Shiverville R/C Raceway in High Springs, FL. The Shiverville track crew once again went all out with an amazing layout and easily the smoothest outdoor surface to date. With ROAR events losing a bit of their luster over the past few years, Shiverville Raceway stepped up to the plate and brought back that “BIG” race feel. The race consisted of best 2 of 3 rounds of qualifying, triple A-mains, and a free raffle that rivaled some National events.

Critters Raceway & Hobby Shop of Fairfield NJ recently held its 2nd Annual Fall-Brawl Trophy Race. Classes consisted of 2WD and 4WD Mod Short Course, 2WD and 4WD Mod 1/10 Buggy and 2WD truck. Turnout was great with almost 70 entries with the most popular classes being 4WD Short Course and 2WD Buggy with all mains being 8 minutes in length, with three rounds of 5 minute qualifiers. 2WD Truck was the first A-main of the day. Top Qualifier Team Durango’s Stevie Charles led from the start and was on cruise-control for 8 minutes. 2nd place starter TJ Eller has a solid showing holding onto 2nd. 3rd place starter Santos Colon was briefly challenged by Randal Fraser falling back to 4th briefly, before taking the position back and bringing home a solid 3rd place finish.

Team Durango have announced that Michal Orlowski, Bartek Zambrzycki and Pawel Staszewski will form Team Durango Poland for the 2013 season. Under the guidance of Matthew Orlowski, this young team of highly talented drivers will race in some important European events. Michal and Bartek will attend the EOS race series, the Mibosport Cup and other races in Poland, while Pawel will race in off-road classes in Poland. A fourth driver, Piotr Okonski, will begin his race season with the team in May.
