2009 KO Propo Mini-Z Grand Prix

We were contacted by the organisers of the 2009 KO Propo Mini-Z Grand Prix set to take place on the 7th of March this year in the San Francisco Bay area. Run at the Inside Line Racing purpose built Mini-Z facility, the event will be open to everyone with classes including F1, 2wd, AWD, Mini Sport, Super sport sedan and Sportsman Super sport sedan.

2009 Snowbird Nationals – Entries Open

The organisers of the 2009 Snowbird Nationals have been in touch to remind everyone that entries are now open. With only a month to go until the race kicks off, already racers from around the World are registering. This year’s Snowbirds feature classes for everyone, with a mix of fun and competitive choices, making the race exciting and enjoyable for all involved. Walter Salemi to use SM engines

Top Italian Mugen racer and multiple World and European Championship finalist Walter Salemi has signed to use SM engines for the 2009 season. The former GRP racer, whose contract ended recently has joined the Schepis Models team to use their new engines. Walter has yet to announce his new tire sponsor.

Shasa Lackner joins Motonica

Another day and another new driver signing, this time from Italian company Motonica who have signed Swiss racer Shasa Lackner. The former Serpent driver is the current EFRA European 1/8 onroad Junior Champion, a title he achieved this year in Valencia, Spain and for 2009 he will be driving the new P81.

Thunder Power RC have signed 28-time ROAR US National Champion Josh Cyrul. With Thunder Power RC entering the surface marketplace, they felt Josh, with his 21 years of experience in the hobby including product design, testing, tuning and racing, would be a perfect choice to support their products at the highest levels. Josh will play an important role by not only using and promoting our products at race events around the world, but also by assisting in the testing and development of future TPRC products.

Thunder Power is well-known for their performance and quality in the airplane and helicopter markets, so when they wanted to make a strong push to bring their technology and knowledge to the car market I was all ears” states Josh. “This past weekend was my first experience running a Thunder Power 5000mAh Pro Race 40C LiPo battery and the performance was the best that I have driven so far. Team Shepherd signs Marco Müller

Team Shepherd have confirmed the signing of Marco Müller for the 2009 season. The current Swiss 1/8th Scale On-Road Champion will use the Velox at National races as well as at the World Championship next year in Lostallo, Switzerland. Marco, who formerly raced for Mugen, will continue to use Novarossi engines.

Team Shepherd signs Dejan Sabeder

Team Shepherd have announced that the 7-times Slovenian and Croation National Champion Dejan Sabeder joins their team for the 2009 season. The well experienced electric driver wants to continue his success in the 1/8th scale nitro class and with his knowledge he will also give support to the local Shepherd racers in Slovenia and Austria.
