Schumacher BTCC Rd3 – Report

The final round of this year’s Schumacher BTCC series was held at the Stafford circuit. With the weather looking a mix of sunshine and showers, none of the competitors and organisers knew what was going to happen, but it would make it an exciting event. Qualifying was done on round by round, with two from four rounds to count. This would then be followed with two finals for everyone. In the respective three classes TQ was taken by Mikey Mansell in Modified, James Hart in 13.5T blinky and Chris Parrot in the 17.5t Hobbywing blinky handout motor class.

Vulcan RC Summer Series Rd6 – Report

Six championship rounds had taken place over the summer events for the Vulcan RC summer series presented by the Louth Radio Control Car Club. Titles were still up for grab as the race came down to its final meeting with a mix of technical and fast sections created the track. The 13.5 championship was still wide open between four drivers. Nathan Winyard was one of them and he took the top qualifying spot and the overall win on the day. Chris Lovely made a return and would take the 2nd spot. Daniel Burks and Andrew Green both had title chances but would fall by the wayside with Andrew Picking up 3rd on the day.

Wallace Motorsports Challenge – Report

Steel City RC Speedway of Fontana, California hosted the Wallace Motorsports Challenge this past weekend. The event attracted nearly 110 entries for the 1/8th, 1/10th and large scale on-road classes. 1/8th Open saw Xray’s Bryce Butterfield taking the overall TQ from Mugen’s JJ Wang in 2nd. The latter then held the upper hand in the 30-minute A-main event, taking the win some two laps in front of Capricorn racer Scott Kimbrow while Bryce Butterfield came out in 3rd another lap down.

Markus Hellquist wins at Swedish On-road Nats

The Swedish On-road Nationals were held at the Wäxjö club recently in both nitro and electric classes. In 1/10th Nitro Touring it was Xray’s Markus Hellquist, in his first outing in this class for some years, with the overall TQ from Georg Elligsen (Infinity). In the 45-minute main final Markus would come out on top, leaving behind Georg in 2nd some eight laps down. Trygve Berntsen, piloting an Infinity, came in 3rd to round out the podium.

German Electric On-road Nationals – Report

The 2019 German Electric On-road Nationals were hosted by the RCCT Münden club this past weekend. The event was held in the usual Touring Modified, Stock and Formula classes and in TC Mod it was Yokomo’s Ronald Völker who set the pace in the qualifiers, taking the overall win from Yokomo teammate, Christopher Krapp in 2nd and Awesomatix’s Freddy Südhoff in 3rd. The triple A-mains then were a done deal for Ronald, who took wins in all three legs to add another German National title to his belt. Christopher snatched the runner-up spot with 2-4-2 finishes while Freddy cemented his final podium spot with 3-2-3 finishes. Infinity’s Yannic Prümper came in 4th while Marc Rheinard rounded out the top 5 following a troublesome weekend.

RC-Lemans Series Rd5 – Report

The fifth and penultimate round of the 2019 RC-Lemans Series was held at the famous AMC Apeldoorn track in the Netherlands. The weather was great all weekend and a huge entry made for competitive racing in the LMP1 Modified and LMP2 Stock classes. After a short break at round 4 to was Tim Altmann back in form on one of his favourite tracks, taking all three qualifiers for the overall TQ from championship leader, Timo Schad with Kai Altmann and Reinder Wilms not far behind. The Stock class saw the return of former Dutch Pro10 champion, Nick Boon who instantly took the overall TQ from Mathijs Hermens and championship leader, Rainer Schad.

Asian Onroad Championships Rd4 – Report

Round 4 of this years Asian Onroad Championships was held at Toms Racing Circuit in Hong Kong this past weekend. The race definitely had some hurdles to get over with the ongoing protests in the city scaring away racers and a massive amount of tourism. Racing-wise and in the Modified Touring class it was Nicholas Lee sitting on pole position and one overall win in this class in the early days of AOC, Nicholas wanted another. The Mod final was stacked with eleven cars, so back traffic was either going to help you or hurt you. Lucky for Nicholas Lee, he is a surgeon cutting through traffic with scalpel like precision allowing him to not only take the early lead, but extend it immensely in all the finals even running the only 21-lap run of the entire weekend in the A3 final. Lee made it a clean sweep to take the over all win with Yugo Nagashima taking the second overall and Simon Nicholson rounding out the top three.

Raymond M. Soto wins at the Series Race

The Barceloneta R/C Speedway in Puerto Rico recently hosted the Series Race. In the Nitro GT class it was Raymond M. Soto
with the overall win from Fernando Mendez on the runner-up spot. Samuel Zayas would round out the top 3 result for an all-IGT8 podium.
