Prumper TQ's opening DHI Cup qualifier

Yannic Prumper has TQ’d the opening round of qualifying at the DHI Cup.  Challenging his Yokomo team-mate Ronald Volker at the top of the timing screens, a mistake by the defending champion halfway through the 5-minute qualifier would allow Prumper to go onto take an easy TQ run by 2.3 second from Marc Rheinard with Volker recovering to post the third fastest time.

Volker tops DHI Cup practice

Defending DHI Cup champion Ronald Volker got his quest for a sixth win at the famous Danish event off to a good start as he topped the final practice in Odense.  With the second of the timed practice rounds seeing improvements from the Top 14 drivers the biggest improvement came from Volker to see him jump ahead of team-mate Yannic Prumper to see the German duo seeded 1-2 for qualifying.  Knocking over 6/10ths of a second of his fastest three consecutive laps, Volker would top the times by 3/10ths from Prumper with Xray’s Alexander Hagberg improving his time by 3/10ths to jump ahead of Serpent’s Marc Fisher to complete the Top 3.

Prumper tops opening practice at DHI Cup

Yannic Prumper topped the opening round of timed practice at the 15th running of DHI Cup in Denmark.  The Team Yokomo driver headed a very closely matched Top 6 over 3-consecutive laps with Serpent’s Marc Fischer second fastest just 0.054 off his fellow German’s pace.  Defending champion Ronald Volker, who is chasing a sixth DHI Cup title this weekend, completed the Top 3 with his Yokomo just 0.003 off Fischer.

Marco Kaufmann wins at MCSS-Open

The AME MCSS-Open was held in Althengstett, Germany with 135 drivers in attendance split into three categories including Touring Car Modified, a class that attracted a good turnout of internationally experienced drivers including 200mm Nitro Touring Car Worlds TQ Dominic Greiner. The first three qualifiers were dominated by Tim Wahl but the only 27 laps run of the weekend ultimately handed Marco Kaufmann the overall TQ for the finals.

New Capricorn deal for Kyle Branson

Young British ace Kyle Branson has renewed his contract with Capricorn for another year to run their entire range of cars. Kyle will also attend the complete ETS series with the recently announced TE03 along with other races around Europe and the UK and will also attend all major 1:10th and 1:8th races with his nitro cars. New for 2015 Kyle will run Capricorn tyres and fuel. Kyle gave the following statement:

And also Piero Torregiani at Contact for everything he has done for me and helped me with over the years. Reigning IFMAR ISTC World Champion and 3-time 1/12th scale World Champion has made the move to Team TRF. The former Yokomo superstar announced his surprise departure from his long time sponsor back in mid December and it seems he has now made the jump to Japanese rivals Tamiya to race alongside good friend and 4 time World Champion Marc Rheinard. With this deal only concerning touring car we still have to see what the 21 year old will race in offroad and 1/12th scale. Watch this space.

Elliott Harper expands deal with GForce

Elliott Harper has announced a continuation and expansion of his deal with GForce into 2015 and beyond.  The British driver, a Worlds, Euros and ETS Podium Finisher, had been using GForce accessories during 2014, but will now run the complete line of products including the GForce TS160 Speed Controller and Super Sonic line of GForce motors. Elliott had the following to say:

Firstly, I would like to thank Frankie, Andreas and everyone at ORCA for their help and support whilst representing the brand throughout the past two years.  I have been really impressed with the GForce accessories I’ve used during 2014, and so made the decision to use their full range of products in 2015 and beyond.  I’m looking forward to working with the whole GForce family and running the new TS160 Competition Speed Controller and Super Sonic line of brushless motors.  Thank you to Chang for giving me this opportunity and I can’t wait for the coming races, especially since winning on my first outing with the full GForce range last weekend!

Chris Grainger joins Team Associated

Team Associated and CML Distribution have announced the signing of British Touring car ace Chris Grainger. The former Schumacher driver has an exceptional CV including 10 times BRCA National Championships and he is also a multiple European, Worlds, TITC and ETS finalist along with winning many other race victories. A solid and consistent contender in any race he attends, his attention to detail is exceptional and some would say he is almost unstoppable in the UK and his record speaks for itself. He brings with him a wealth of experience and will be the corner stone of a fun, new and exciting team heading into the 2015 season. Chris had this to say:

I’m very excited to be joining Team Associated for the 2015 and 2016 seasons. Some of my fondest memories from the early days of Touring Cars were racing a TC3 and working with Mike Reedy at the track. I’m looking forward to being part of that team again and working with them throughout the races ahead. I’d like to thank everyone at Team Associated and CML Distribution who have made this possible.
