Pedro Rombouts wins at Dutch nitro on-road nats Rd2

The 2nd round of the Dutch nitro on-road nationals was run at the track of the MAC de Baanbrekers track in Rucphen. The weather was nice all weekend making for good racing conditions. During the 200mm class qualifying Daan Stuiver set a strong pace followed by Pedro Rombouts. Ricardo Hofmeijer and Milan Holthuis completed the top 4. In the main final Dann was able to open a gap on Pedro and he pulled away from the field. While an intense battle for the 3rd place arose, Pedro was able to start closing the gap on Daan after the first fuel stop. Just before the second round of pit stops Pedro was hot on the tail of Daan and with 12 minutes into the race Pedro ultimately found a way past. Rombouts then was able to pull away from the field allowing him to cruise to the victory in the 30 minute final. Daan Stuiver came in 2nd a lap down on Pedro while Ricardo completed the podium in 3rd.

sun_volkerbody1

Ronald Volker took an easy win in the opening A-Main at the fourth round of the Yokomo Euro Touring Series in Austria this morning. The Top Qualifier headed home a Yokomo 1-2 as team-mate Yannic Prumper also finished in the same position he qualified. The race was made all the easier for the Yokomo pairing as a first corner coming together between the No. 3 and 4 starting Tamiya’s of Viktor Wilck and Marc Rheinard gave them an early break. Benefiting from the first corner chaos, Marc Fischer would finish third, the Serpent driver coming on very strong at the end of the encounter to mount a challenge on Prumper only to run out of time.

Volker TQs opening ETS qualifier in Austria

Ronald Volker has TQ’d the opening round of qualifying at the fourth round of the Yokomo Euro Touring Series in Mattsee, Austria. Having set the pace in practice at the fahr(T)raum event to lead away the top heat of qualifying, the Team Yokomo star was the only driver to do 24 laps of the unforgiving US style track but the defending champion faced a stern challenge from Tamiya’s Marc Rheinard. Setting the TQ pace for a time Rheinard would post the second fastest time, just missing out on 24-laps, with TRF team-mate Viktor Wilck third. Volker tops 1st timed practice at ETS Mattsee

fri_volker
Following a 2-month break, in the first practice of the four round of the Yokomo Euro Touring Series defending champion Ronald Volker made his intentions clear setting the fastest time from Serpent’s Marc Fisher. An all new event on the ETS calendar, the Yokomo driver looks to have got to grips rather quickly with the unique track in Mattsee, Austria, being over 1/2 a second faster than his rivals over 3-consecutive laps. Volker’s team-mate Yannic Prumper completed the Top 3 around the US boards style track that thankfully it was decided on Tuesday to cover with a very large marquee meaning the many heavy rain showers today have not interrupted proceedings.
