The EC-B this year for 1/8th took place at the well-known Lamberto Collaro Raceway in Bologna with 71 Drivers making the trip to this event. The practice days in the beginning of the week were interrupted by showers and also for the Qualifying days some rain was expected. At the end they were lucky and it was possible to run 5 dry Qualifiers and all the finals on Saturday.

The 2nd round of the Korean Sweep Challenge was held at the Milyang indoor asphalt track. TOP Racing’s Kwon Chan-woo took the TQ and win in the Touring Car Modified class over the Awesomatix duo of Jeong Gu-Gil and Ahn Joung-hyeon for a back-to-back TOP Racing victory in this racing series.

The Lavanttaler Modell Auto Club in Austria is celebrating their 30 year anniversary with the LAMAC Open race on the weekend of the 29th of June. The event is open for 1/10th electric, 1/10th touring, 1/8th track and 1/8th GT/Rally cars with the club focussing on a fun race and tech talk. To make for a special atmosphere, two qualifying rounds will be held on Saturday night under floodlight. The 2014 Singapore Open was held at the beautiful and newly resurfaced East Coast PA track in Singapore. Some 60 entries in three different classes battled for the wins. In 1/10th 200mm it was Singapore’s Nicholas Lee who managed to take the TQ, just in front of Alexander Hagberg in 2nd place. Both driver were a lot faster than the competition and it looked like the two would battle it out for the win on Sunday. Unfortunately, Nicholas hit mechanical problems in his semifinal and did not proceed to the final. Alexander had better luck and managed to win the semi B to take the pole position for the main final.

During the EFRA “Flat Chassis” European Championships that will be held from the 1st to 3rd August in Gubbio, Italy, a GT-Rally Eurocup for 1/8th scale GT and Rally chassis will be held. Being an open event, the race only requires a national licence to participate and it is understood that the race is being held to determine the need of an official EFRA 1/8th GT class.

Rally Game Class cars are powered by an internal combustion engine with piston and glow plug. Transmission can be on 2 or 4 wheels. They are based on 1/8th Off-road cars, with some changes to adapt them to an on-road track.

Xray Korea invites all Xray drivers to take part at the Xray Challenge Korea. Taking place at the Kirina Circuit on the 1st of June, the race sees the running of electric and nitro 1/10th classes along a 1/8th nitro on-road class. Xray’s Alexander Hagberg will be present for support. More information can be found here.
VBC Racing’s Ryan Maker has TQ’d and won a hotly contested Modified field at the 2014 NSW State Titles at Sydney’’s premier SMA track. Ryan wrapped up TQ in the first 3 rounds of qualifying with his Muchmore-powered VBC D06, ahead of Simon Nicholson and Craig McPhee. Ryan took a close win in the first A-main from Simon and Ari. A mistake by Simon on the 3rd lap of A -main 2 gave Ryan a 2 second gap which he was able to maintain and secure his 2nd NSW State Title. Ryan sat out the last final which saw Simon take the win from Ari Bakla (Xray) and Nathan Reese (Xray).

The Serpent Challenge Slovenia will be held on the 1st of June in Tolmin. The race will be held in 1/10th electric, 1/10th touring, 1/8th track, 1/8th GT/Rally and 1/5th scale classes with a factory driver supported workshop on Saturday while Serpent designer Michael Salven is present for additional support.
