The final FinTrack Tour TC round of the year was held in Oulu over the weekend with about 80 entries for the three Touring Car classes and the supporting Formula category. In the Touring Modified A-main Viljami Kutvonen would come out fastest in the A-main from Miko Teponoja in second and Kalle Lehto in third.
Coming for a range of Serpent 1/8th kits are the new Xceed titanium screw sets. Available for the 977 Evo, 977 E, SRX8 and GT 3.0 the sets lower the weight of the cars while improving looks and durability compared to the standard steel fasteners.
The third round of the Essex Winter Series championship took place this weekend. As the last major event of 2016, everyone wanted to end on a high, but also take the opportunity to stand out as a championship contender. In the Modified Class, Elliott Harper was heading the standings with two perfect scores from the two rounds so far. The first round of qualifying showed that his run of success was possibly about to end, after an incredibly close round saw Elliott only just snatching the fastest time on the final lap, pipping young Harley Eldridge to the top spot by three-hundredths of a second. Kyle Branson took third in the round ahead of Chris Grainger, but the top eight were covered by less than four seconds.

Coming from Xceed are three new tool sets targeting nitro and electric racers. Available in variants for nitro on-road, 1/8th off-road and electric racing, the sets include specific tools such as flywheel wrenches for the nitro sets, a 17mm wheel nut wrench for 1/8th off-road kits or a variety of hex and socket drivers with the electric pack. Round three of the Swedish Cup was held this past weekend with about 60 drivers making their entry. The track was laid out using the popular ETS carpet with the layout being very technical and pretty narrow at places. Viktor Wilck would come into groove quickly and he took the overall TQ in the Touring Modified class from Marcus van Elling and Fabian Vernersson in second and third respectively. In the final Viktor made a clean sweep to take the overall win while behind him, Marcus and Fabian battled it out for the runner-up spot. Fabian would get second in the opening final and he was on the 2 spot in the second final until he had a crash with back markers on the last laps. In the deciding final Marcus would take the second place to secure the overall runner-up spot while Fabian showed improving performance and finished on a well deserved third place.

Xray have announced the signing of Hungarian Formula champion, Balint Rajki to their team. The former ETS Stock, Hungarian 1/10th 200mm Nitro, and HPI Nitro Stock European and World Champion will focus on electric touring car and formula racing at all major electric on-road events including the ETS and he has the following to say:
I’m very happy to announce and also feel honoured to be able to join the Xray factory team. I have been following the formula project since the beginning and I truly believe that the X1 car is the best car at the moment so far and I’m sure it will remain the same. Besides the X1 I will also race T4 cars in our National Championship, ETS and some XRS races. I had been basically racing the past 10 years with one brand, but now I feel that this is the right brand to join with having all the different cars I had raced before and also planning to race in the future. I would like to thank Jan Ratheisky and the Hudy family for the opportunity, I will do my best. I also would like to say Thank You to Modell & Hobby and Arpad Kocsis for supporting me with cars over the past years.

Xray have announced the signing of Italy’s Mattia Collina to their factory team. Already an Xray driver before and the main driving force of Xray in Italy, Mattia now gets full factory support and he will participate at all major national and international races. The former ETS winner and multiple Italian Touring Stock class champion has the following to say about the deal:
I am very happy and honoured to be part of the factory Xray team for the next seasons. The teamwork & constantly development is for me the best on the market as well as the car in terms of material and performance. In the Xray team I have found real friends and teammates that are always ready to help and to have fun. Coming soon from Castle Creations is the Mamba X sensored brushless speed controller for 1/10th scale applications. Capable of handling 2S to 6S LiPo battery packs the waterproof controller features an adjustable standard and high-voltage BEC system, it is telemetry and data logging capable, and it works with Castle Creations’s 1406, 1410 and 1415 sensored motors as well as other sensored brushless motors of comparable specifications. An addition cooling fan keeps the speedo, that is housed in an aluminium case, cool in demanding applications.
