Serpent driver Carlos Duraes took the win at a Portuguese regional race held last weekend at the Modelis track in Ortigosa. Carlos won the 35 minute final with his RB-powered ride one lap ahead of Ricardo Monteiro (TLR/RB), while Goncalo Melo (TLR/RB) completed the top 3 result another 3 laps down. Pedro Rodrigues and Miguel Matias ended the race in 4th and 5th position respectively.

Along with the release of their Hackmoto V2 brushed motors Yeah Racing also introduce a suitable speed controller in the form of the Tritronic 60A ESC. Made for 1/10th scale applications with 2S to 3S LiPo packs or 5 to 9 cell NiMH batteries the speed controller features dust and water protection, a 5V/2A BEC system, and three running modes including FWD/Brake and FWD/Brake/Reverse. With its 60A rating the speedo allows to run brushed motors down to 12T with a 2S LiPo pack and it will become available separately or as a combo set including a Hackmoto V2 brushed motor.

The DirtRaceRC track in Diego Fuser, Italy hosted the 2014 Arena Outdoor race. Considered to be one of the best outdoor tracks in Italy, the event attracted some of the best Italian drivers to compete in a total of four nitro and electric classes. The Nitro Buggy F1 class saw Riccardo Berton taking the win in the 45 minute final one lap ahead of Ale Stocco and Daniele Chicca, who finished another lap down. Fabricio Teghesi and Davide Ongaro completed the top 5 result in the fastest buggy class.

Yeah Racing introduce the new Hackmotor V2 540-size brushed motors for all die-hard “vintage” technology fans. Coming in several winding options, such as as a mild modified 13T and a spec racing 23T variant, there are also three very high turn 35T, 45T and 55T motors available. All feature black cans with high-strength magnets, vented motor heads with large solder tabs and cooling towers for the brushes as well as dual ball bearings. The 2nd round of this year’s German 1/8 nitro buggy national championships took place at the RC Modellbaufreude club in Freising near the Munich airport. After winning the opening round one week ago Martin Bayer again was the man to beat this past weekend. The Xray driver won three out of the five qualifiers to take the overall TQ for the finals. Team Durango’s Jörn Neumann came in second while Kyosho driver Carsten Keller completed the top 3 result.

The 4th round of this year’s Southern Regional Series took place last weekend at the KMRC track in Kent. Mugen’s Lee Martin was in control of things and ultimately took the win in the Nitro Buggy class ahead of Elliott Boots (Kyosho) and Tony Truman (Agama). Jon Hazlewood and Taro Cradock rounded out the top 5 result.

The Reedy Race have announced that the 2015 Reedy International Off-Road Race of Champions will return to OCRC Raceway in Huntington Beach, CA January 22-25, 2015. 2014 was the first year that the Reedy Race was held at OCRC Raceway and the response was extremely positive, not only from the racers, but from spectators, event sponsors, industry representatives, and the media. The results saw Ryan Cavalieri crowned Invitational champion for the third time and for the second consecutive year. In the 2WD Open class, J.P. Richards claimed the title while Spencer Rivkin took the 4WD Open class. Both of these racers will join Cavalieri and the World’s best to compete for the 2015 Invitational title. Entries for the 2015 Reedy International Off-Road race of Champions open at noon, PST on September 1, 2014 exclusively on www.rcsignup.com and close October 19, 2014 at midnight, PST. As in previous years, the event features its traditional 2WD Open and 4WD Open classes and the combined Invitational 2WD/4WD format.

Schumacher announce that UK off-road front runner David Poulter has re-joined the team. David is a high performing driver who will be an excellent addition to the UK team and he has the following to say:
I’d like say thank you to TLR & Horizon Hobby UK for their support this year. I am very happy to be returning to Schumacher Racing and am excited about running both the Cougar KF and Cat K1 Aero for the coming season. I am hoping to compete at all rounds of the EOS Series and the Silverstone Winter Series where I will be able to adjust to the cars ready for the UK Nationals in 2015.
