Hot Race Bangkok 1/8th buggy tyre

The second in the line of Hot Race Tyres’ new 1/8th buggy rubbers is the Bangkok. Used at last weekend’s World Indoor Buggy to gain the TQ spot after the qualifiers and the runner-up spot in the main final, the tyre is of a mini pin design with an inner mesh making for lower and more even tyre wear. The tyre is available in supersoft, soft, medium and hard compound.

Team Orion have introduced their Ultra chemistry shorty LiPo battery pack. Suitable for a range of applications the pack is built from high-performance 450mmAh 100C cells with a special chemistry and construction making for improved punch and extreme power output. This allows to use the battery in power-hungry classes such as 4WD Modified off-road and it comes housed in a carbon-look hardcase, utilising standard 4mm gold-plated connectors.

Awesomatix A800 belt-driven touring car kit

Some weeks ago Awesomatix have introduced their forthcoming A800 electric touring car kit and following first renderings now official images of the production car are available. As mentioned before the A800 is the company’s first belt-driven car and while doing away with the shaft drivetrain of the A700 the A800 still relies on the tried and tested suspension components although kit will utilise aluminium lower A-arms over the previously used carbon fibre offerings. Part of the suspension package are the rebuildable D2.1 rotation dampers that allow to maintain and tune shock absorbers if needed.

New Tesla tool range & pit bag

Capricorn have introduced a new range of Tesla brand tools as well as a black pit bag. Starting with the tools, they are made using a black anodised and ergonomically-shaped aluminium handle while the tool tips are machined from titanium-nitride coated spring steel. Available are 1.5mm to 3.0mm hex head wrenches, 2.0mm to 5.0mm ball hex wrenches as well as 3.0mm and 5.0mm flat head and a 4.0mm Philips screw drivers. Other tools of the range include an exhaust spring, E-clips and flywheel remover as well as a body reamer. The tools are available separately or as a complete set including a black storage bag. Also new is a Tesla-branded black fabric pit bag. It offers loads of space for pit equipment and allows to conveniently attach tools to the outside using a sturdy strap.

Essex Winter Series Rd2 – Report

The second round of the popular Essex Winter Series championship took place this weekend in the south-east of the UK. The event was once again almost at capacity and, as well as all the usual top UK drivers, current EFRA Touring Car Champion Alexander Hagberg joined the race after completing his move to live in the UK. In the Zen Racing Modified class, the battle for top qualifier was between EWS round one winner, Olly Jefferies, and current BRCA champion Elliott Harper. Elliott took his Schumacher to the fastest time in the first qualifying round, with Olly second ahead of Kyle Branson, Andy Moore and Alexander Hagberg. Elliott again set the pace in round two, with Olly again placing his Xray second quickest in front of Kyle, Andy and Alexander once again. Elliott secured the pole position with the fastest time in round three, as Capricorn’s Kyle Branson took second in front of Olly and his Xray team-mate Alexander, with defending EWS champion Stefan Chodzynski rounding out the top five for Capricorn. Elliott made it a clean sweep by taking the fourth qualifier. Alexander was getting to grips with the EWS track and surface to take second in the round, ahead of Olly, Andy and Kyle.

Yeah Racing TT02B aluminium suspension parts

New from Yeah Racing and made for the Tamiya TT02B entry-level off-road buggy are several aluminium suspension parts. The range includes front and rear lower A-arms, ball-raced 6 degree C-hubs, front steering knuckles, 3 degree toe rear hubs as well as front and rear shock towers. The latter sport multiple shock mounting locations and most parts also include mounting hardware for fast and easy assembly. All parts are cut from high-quality aluminium, they come anodised in a bright blue colour and add rigidity, precision and visual impact.

Robert Battle takes World Indoor Buggy Cup title

The 2015 World Indoor Buggy Cup was held this past weekend at the Padova Indoor Buggy Race track in Italy. Considered the unofficial 1/8th indoor World Championship the event attracted a nice collection of national and international drivers. In the premier 1/8th Pro Nitro class TLR’s Alex Zanchettin would start from the pole position into the 60 minute A-main after Marco Baruffolo (TLR) took the TQ after the qualifiers. Alex though would encounter problems during the final which resulted in a dead last 14th overall position in the main while up front the race was on between Robert Batlle (Mugen), Marco Baruffalo, Darren Bloomfield (Agama) and Ryan Maifield, all finishing on the same lap after the hour long race. Ultimately Robert brought home the title from Marco with Darren rounding out the podium result and Ryan being the best of the rest.

Hara & Yeung win at Laliwarehouse Indoor series

The final round of the Lalihouse Indoor Offroad Series was held this past weekend with a special guest in appearance. Two time IFMAR World Champion Atsushi Hara was there to battle against a fast bunch of local talent and in the 1/10h 4WD Electric Buggy class Hara soon made his intensions clear by taking the overall TQ and winning all three A-mains to take the day’s win from young Jonathan Yeung on the runner-up spot.
