Former European ‘B’ Champion and former European ‘A’ finalist Steven Cuypers has announced that he will team up with Italian manufacturer Capricorn RC to use their competition fuels for the 2009 season. Steven, who recently signed to Mugen, after a long spell with Serpent, will use the fuel in his Sirio power plants this year as he aims for success at the 1/8th scale World Championships, held in Lostallo, Switzerland.
Capricorn RC have been very busy lately it seems, and today sees the announcement of more releases, this time its their new competition .12 engine, the CL-12ETX, the newest evolution of Capricorn Competition racing engines. This engine has been updated with new timing on the liner, adopting the Sirio XXX port timing for better response in the bottom end and higher top end speed, while the crankshaft has been hand modified and polished. This engine also uses a rear ceramic bearing and this is mounted into the new silver customized Capricorn crankcase. Available now.

When we wrote our story about the two new entrants into the 1/10th scale 200mm market, if we had of waited another week we could have added a third, with the news today that Italian company Capricorn RC will begin producing a chassis for this class. We were sent the first Exclusive CAD images of their new car, but only with some brief information about it, however you can see a lot from the pictures. The car naturally will be supplied with a lot of Capricorn optionals as standard, such as their 2008 World champion clutch, super light brake disk, one piece engine mount, lightened main and middle shaft, ultra light pivot balls, ultra light rear dogbones and front CVDs, lightened front and rear hex wheel adaptors as well as 3.6mm thick front and rear shock towers. The car features some other new features such as lightweight spur gears, a wire front anti-roll bar instead of the usual wishbone lever system, new front belt tensioner system, a hexagonal rear belt tensioner and new innovative plastic materials used for the arms and hubs. We don’t have a date for its release, only that its coming soon.
Capricorn RC have released this stylish red waterproof jacket for keeping you warm and dry at the track. Featuring the Capricorn RC logo printed on the back, and vertically on the front left, the jacket also has the more conventional little Capricorn animal on the right shoulder. Expect to see it keeping the likes of Adrien Bertin dry over the coming months. Available in M, L , XL, XXL.

Italian company Capricorn RC, whose products won the 1/10th 200mm World Championship fitted in the car of Daniele Ielasi have put their conversions skills to tackle a 1/8th scale on road electric conversion. Designed to upgrade the Serpent 960 chassis, this upcoming kit includes a new carbon fibre chassis plate and radio tray to keep weight low as well as fit the 4200mAh 25C 14.4V LiPo cell and speed controller. The car will retain its mechanical brake and also have a 2-speed gearbox, however we have heard from many sources that this may not be necessary for his class of racing. The brushless motor sits where you would expect it and is mounted to a carbon fibre mount that also acts as the chassis stiffener. Capricorn RC have released their new 1/10th scale exhaust system. EFRA homologated (#2648), it has been designed to work with the new ruling that requires the use of an INS box on .12 engines. Available for sale from the 7th of January.

Yesterday we showed you the Sirio based Capricorn CL-9TE .21 circuit engine, but the Italian company have also released a new .21 off road buggy engine. Called the Q-5TE, this new 5 port engine features extra porting work on the liner, while the lightened crankshaft has also been polished and sports a large turbo scoop.

Italian company Capricorn RC have announced the upcoming release of their CL-9TE .21 circuit engine. Featuring revised internals, the piston and liner timing has been revised and optimized for high performance, while the crankshaft has been hand modified and polished. Supplied with rear ceramic bearings the engine also has a very efficient new red anodized cooling head.
