MIP 5ive-T Real Brakes Kit

MIP 5ive-T Real Brakes Kit

Introducing a system that looks and works much like disk brakes on motorcycles, bikes, and large cars, MIP’s all new Real Brakes are here for the Losi 5ive-T. Consisting of proper and replaceable brake pads for stopping power and a disk rotor that is sure to last the life of the car, this system is sure to stop Losi’s large scale truck on a dime. With the updated brakes adjusting the pitch of the car in the air is a synch and as the car reacts in the air the brake rotor will not get cocked forward or backward due to special brake guide. This system has been tested for months by MIP’s product development team and is attributed with the 2014 West Coast Nationals Win and 2015 Nitro Challenge wins.

MIP 5ive-T Bypass1 32mm big bore shock kit

MIP 5ive-T Bypass1 32mm big bore shock kit

Formerly only available for 1/10th shock absorbers MIP now introduces the Bypass1 shock piston technology for Losi’s 5ive-T large scale truck. The kit builds around all-new 32mm shock absorber bodies that do away with the standard 28mm items that may limit the suspension’s performance especially when running bigger engines or when racing in harsh conditions. The new big bore system allows the truck to be more responsive, predictable, and stable on the straights, in the corners and during jumping and landing. With the race proven MIP Bypass1 system equipped and two sets of springs included, the set allows for proper fine-tuning right out of the box. Included in the set are four hard anodised shock bodies, four anodised shock and cartridge caps, two pairs for front and rear springs as well as the Bypass1 piston system with slow, medium and fast rebound valves. The set is rounded out by several small and hardware parts and it is a direct fit with the standard piston rods, seals, spring cups and hardware.

MIP B5M 3-gear aluminium transmission set

MIP B5M 3-gear aluminium transmission set

Seen for the first time at the recent Reedy Offroad Race of Champions MIP now officially introduce the 3-gear transmission set for the Team Associated B5M buggy. The often debated question among stock class racers is whether to use a rear or mid motor setup as with a mid motor better corner speeds can be achieves whereas a rear motor layout leads to less drag and more initial punch. The new MIP Box 7075 aluminium 3-gear transmission for the Team Associated B5M bridges that gap and gives the mid motor buggy all the benefits of the rear motor car but less drag and more initial punch. Not only does the transmission eliminate one idler gear to equate to less drag but its all aluminium construct offers a huge advantage pertaining to more precise internal gear mesh, less overall heat, and stiffer bracing. The gearbox is a direct fit on the B5M and the set includes two gearbox halves, a blue anodized motor plate, gear cover and small parts.

MIP B5M aluminium 3-gear transmission

MIP B5M aluminium 3-gear transmission

During this weekend‘s Reedy Offroad Race of Champions MIP have a new 3-gear transmission for Team Associated’s B5M buggy to show. The sturdy 7075 aluminium case offers improved precision, optimised gear mesh and thus higher efficiency compared to the standard moulded cases. At the same time the transmission package is relatively of the same overall weight as the OEM 4-gear transmission, keeping the weight distribution the same as what the car was designed for which can often be more beneficial than scrubbing tons of weight. Also as the motor sits at a 3mm offset to the left an optimised left to right weight balance is achieved – the needed spacer and new spring will be supplied with the transmission kit. On top of that the all-alloy gearbox will act as a giant heatsink, making for improved motor cooling and a reduced power fade during a run. The 3-gear design also makes for a more efficient operation making the gearbox ideal for stock and modified racers alike.

MIP 1/5th scale 54mm 8-shoe racing clutch

MIP 1/5th scale 54mm 8-shoe racing clutch

MIP introduce their new 54mm 8-shoe racing clutch for 1/5th scale applications. As the stock clutch is non-rebuildable, heavy, prone to loose its edge in the first 15 minutes and fades quickly after, and most of all it takes a long time for the engine to spool up and the clutch to engage properly MIP have come up with a dedicated design to overcome these downfalls. With months of direct input from MIP’s engineering and race team the 54mm racing clutch hits harder faster, its shoe longevity is vastly improved, and when shoes and springs do wear out there’s no need to ditch the entire assembly as it is completely rebuildable. The lightweight design scrubs 50 percent of rotating mass, the 7075 aluminium construct offers 4, 6 or 8-shoe adjustability and it is a direct replacement on most large scale vehicles.

MIP 5ive-T header lock wire kit

MIP 5ive-T header lock wire kit

MIP introduce the Losi 5ive-T header lock wire set for Losi’s large scale truck. Including a pair of pipe screws, split lock washers, M5 safety wire nuts and 2 feet of spring wire the set helps to secure the header screws and nuts of most gasoline engines to prevent them from vibrating loose during operation. The lock wire routes through the nuts, limiting their movement once they accidentally come loose due to heat and vibrations, and although they may still move a little bit they still hold the pipe in place making sure you can complete the run without sacrificing engine performance.

MIP B5M 3-gear transmission coming soon

MIP B5M 3-gear transmission coming soon

MIP soon have a 3-gear transmission conversion for Team Associated’s B5M buggy available. The transmission setup takes out the 4th gear to reduce overall drag and enhance rotational efficiency, making it ideal for Stock racing while being a great tuning aid for Modified as well. Currently in prototype stages the final product, that also includes a new motor plate, will be made from 7075 aircraft grade aluminium with the release date being set for November or December.
