Robert Pietsch rejoins Mugen Seiki

Robert Pietsch, the designer behind the successful Shepherd Velox as well as top international racer has made a shock return to the MID Mugen Team for the start of the 2009 season. The 2007 German Champion will compete with the MRX-4X and MTX-4 but he will not just represent Mugen as a driver but will bring with him his experience and design ideas and will work closely with the technical designers at Mugen’s Japanese Headquarters. This is big blow for Shepherd who not only lose a World class racer, but a product designer too.

Mugen 2008 Long Sleeve Tee

Mugen have released the latest product in their clothing line-up with the release of this long sleeve tee. Made from grey cotton, the shirt sports Mugen Seiki’s new logo small on the front chest and large on the back, while the left sleeve sports the same words but in a different style. Available in M, L and XL.

Mugen Seiki 1500mAh Power Pack

New from Mugen, for use in their MBX-6, MRX-4 as well as their MTX4-R, is this new 1500mAh receiver battery pack. Claiming to have 50% more capacity than previous versions, this 6V nickel-metal hydride battery is protected by black shrink sleeving and is available with either a Sanwa/Airtronics or a Futaba type plug.

Pro Line MBX-6 & RC8T Shift shells

Pro-Line have released a new shell for both the Mugen MBX-6, one of the most anticipated 1:8 buggies to hit the market and the Associated RC8T the latest and greatest 1:8 truck to hit the market. The new shell design called Shift, will give both your MBX-6 and RC8T the lowest possible CG while carefully crafted, hard/yet precise body lines are the now generation of body styling. Crisp lines carefully sculpted to hug the chassis interior like a glove. All this allows for the smallest cab and side pod design possible. SMP Racing V-One RRR & MRX-4 parts

Swiss company SMP Racing, makers of the Slide 1/8th scale chassis which is no longer in production, have aimed their sites on the manufacture of aftermarket parts. Focusing on lightweight performance parts, they have released some new wheel axles for the Kyosho V-One RRR Evo, one pair made from titanium, weighing in at 6 grams and another set made from hard coated aluminium weighing 3 grams. Also new is a hard coated aluminum servo saver shaft for the Mugen MRX-4, which also weighs only 3 grams.

Mugen MBX-6 buggy - First photos

Mugen Seiki in Japan have released the first photos of their new MBX-6 1/8th scale buggy that is due for release later this month. Having already seen multiple CAD images of the car before, the design is not new to us but in these photos it looks to be very beefy with the thick carbon fibreshock towers and big bore shocks, and the car also looks to be very compact and narrow around the mid section.

Mugen have announced the release of a new range of team caps. Featuring the latest Mugen logo embroidered on the front, the hat is suitable for all size heads thanks to its flex fit system and to suit all tastes, it is available in black, blue and grey colours.
