Speed Passion confirm Elliot Harper

Speed Passion confirm Elliot Harper

Speed Passion have announced the signing of top young UK driver Elliott Harper to compliment their growing team for the 2010 season. The 16 year old is already an established racer and has some great racing results already, being a Worlds and European A finalist in 2008. Elliott will use the Speed Passion Competition 3.0 motors along with their GT2.0 Pro Speedo in his cars to give him the best power possible. He will be putting the package together for the next ETS at Hrotovice, Czech Republic at the end of January 2010 for his first major race meeting. Elliott said:

Firstly, I would like to thank Nosram, and in particular Reto, very much for the support they have provided over the last 2 season and I really enjoyed being associated with them. The Speed Passion equipment is easy to use and set up and there have been lots of very positive comments from users. The plug and play arrangement for the motor makes any changes much easier and faster so there is no need for a soldering iron. Speed Passion is keen to strengthen their position and are attracting top drivers in a number of areas and continue to develop their product range making them a very strong force for 2010. I am very much looking forward to the coming seasons with Speed Passion as I have run the package a few times now and it is really, really good.

Durango desperately seeking Hupo

Durango desperately seeking Hupo

Team Durango have taken a rather unconventional approach to gain the services of multiple European Champion Hupo Honigl, by posting on their official blog stating that they are “actively trying to attract Hupo Honigl back to Team Durango”. Pointing out that the Austrian has previously driven for the Durango team back in 2006, when he used one of the then handmade chassis’, they feel that they had to take this approach in the face of ‘mega bucks RTR companies’ also trying to secure his services. Durango want to have the current Tamiya and LRP team driver at the controls of their DEX410 1/10th scale 4wd buggy and soon to be released DNX408 1/8th scale buggy and believe that together they can grow to expand into other classes including the design and production of a 2wd buggy chassis. We contacted the current European 2wd Champion to get his reaction:

It would be great to race for Durango again and I did enjoy working with Gerd Strenge in the past, but I have some contracts still in place and I can’t make any decisions on my future until the time is right.
