Roche Rapide P12-2017 1/12th scale pan car kit

UK Roche distributor Zen Racing has released first images and information on the Rapide P12-2017 1/12th scale pan car kit. The car builds on the 2016 IFMAR World Championships and ROAR Nationals winning car and it utilises a newly designed 2.5mm carbon fibre chassis and rear power pod plate. Other areas that received a make over are the floating servo plate, the front lower aluminium bulkheads, the rear alloy chassis brace and the low centre of gravity motor mount. The rear centre top plates also are of a new design to accommodate the Rolling Friction Adjust System RFAS and included in the kit are furthermore a new big bore centre shock and new diff and clamping wheel hubs that allow the use of M2.5x8mm screws. The kit is rounded out by redesigned alloy side spring mounts and aluminium steering turnbuckles. More information and images should become available in time for the release.

Roche Rapide F1 CF rear axle & Ti-coated shock shaft

Roche Rapide F1 CF rear axle & Ti-coated shock shaft

Coming from Roche and made for the Rapide F1 1/10th scale formula car are a carbon fibre rear axle and a titanium-coated shock shaft. Starting with the rear axle, the assembly uses a carbon fibre shaft with a lightweight yet durable aluminium differential plate and a threaded aluminium insert for the adjustment nut. Using the part will improve acceleration and top speed while also giving more on-power steering due to a different weight distribution. Also new and made for the Rapide F1 is a titanium-coated centre shock shaft. The space age coating will reduce friction, making for a smoother and more efficiently working shock absorber.

Roche Rapide P12-2016 alloy chassis & pod plate

Roche Rapide P12-2016 alloy chassis & pod plate

Roche have introduced an aluminium chassis and lower motor pod plate for the Rapide P12-2016 1/12th scale kit. Both parts are machined from 2.5mm 7075-T6 aluminium and they come gun metal anodised and with silver chamfered edges for looks. Using the parts lowers the centre of gravity due to adding weight at the lowest possible area of the car while the increased stiffness makes for optimised on-track performance especially in high-bite track conditions.

McFactory Type L 1/12th scale conversion kits

McFactory Type L 1/12th scale conversion kits

McFactory have introduced their all new Type L 1/12th scale conversion kits. The “L” is in honour of National Champion Donny Lia, who was instrumental in the development of this new car. The kits were designed for the new high-bite black CRC carpet and feature inverted sidelink mounts to allow for a narrower chassis that in turn makes for more undisturbed chassis roll on the high-grip carpet without dragging while also moving weight closer to the centre of the car. Also included are raised front carbon bumpers that remove nose weight and solve the dragging issues everyone has on the new carpet. Finally a recessed tape slot in the centre does away with the battery tape getting cut or caught. The Type “L” conversion will be made for the CRC, Team Associated, Serpent, TOP, SpeedMerchant, Roche, and Xray cars with the later will also come with the rear pod moved 2mm towards the diff and a new top plate. Another cool option is the ORCA shock mount with the speedo screwing into the chassis and an upper heatsink carbon fibre brace acting as shock mount. Non Orca kits will utilise the standard shock mounts from whatever chassis is converted.
