Peter Pinisch teams up with Schumacher

Schumacher have announced that top Austrian racer Peter Pinisch will be racing the company’s 1/10th line of off-road buggies in 2015 and 2016. Peter is a former EFRA 4WD European Champion, and 3-time IFMAR Worlds A-finalist. He is also a regular EOS A-finalist and has achieved an amazing 20 EFRA Euros A-finals. He is a very fast and experienced racer and will be a big asset to Schumacher’’s growing European off road team. Peter had this to say:

First of all I would like to thank all Team Associated especially Brent Thielke and Craig Drescher for their help and support the last 12 years. After some many years of racing it is time for a change and I`m really happy to announce that Team Schumacher give me the opportunity to run their products for the next years. I am really excited to race with the new cars at major international races EOS, Euros and Worlds.’

Colin Price re-signs with Schumacher

Colin Price re-signs with Schumacher

Schumacher announce that long term Schumacher driver and 2014 BRCA Modified Vice-Champion Colin Price has re-signed to the team. The quiet man of the Touring Car scene, but a true competitor who never gives an inch, Colin had his best year in 2014 taking second in the BRCA Nationals, just 1 point off the Champion Olly Jefferies and ahead of Chris Grainger and Elliott Harper and Andy Moore. Along with Colin comes his super fast brother Lee who last year also finished second in the BRCA Pro Stock Championship. Colin had this to say:

Firstly I’d like to thank everyone at Schumacher for the support over the past seasons and look forward to continued success and development over the next year with the Mi5evo and Supastox GT.

Chris Grainger splits with Schumacher

Chris Grainger splits with Schumacher

Chris Grainger has announced that he will be departing Schumacher Racing at the end of 2014. Chris has been at Schumacher for 6 seasons, and during that time has seen great successes, including lifting three UK National titles, and securing a World Championship A final place in 2012. Chris said:

To all my RC friends. I just wanted to let everyone know that as from December 31st I will no longer be driving for Schumacher racing. I want to just say thank you so much to everyone in the factory who have made the last 6 years the best and most enjoyable 6 years of all my years racing. Thank you all very much.

More news will follow soon regarding Chris’ plans for 2015 and beyond.

Schumacher 1/8th Stagger buggy tyre

Coming from Schumacher and made for 1/8th off-road buggies is the new 1/8th Stagger tyre aimed at astroturf and multi-surface high grip tracks. The unique design allows the tyre to generate enough steering without causing grip roll. Also having plenty of forward drive due to the central row of horizontal bars. The tyre is meant for the front of the car but can also be used on the rear and it is available in two compounds, yellow for dry astro and softer silver for damp/wet conditions as a pair of tyre only or as pre-mounts on a Schumacher Revlite rim with medium foam insert.

The company is requiring an engineer to join their design and development team as design, development and race engineer. The responsibilities include the building and testing of prototype cars, inputting knowledge from racing into the design process as well as the 2D and 3D design of RC racing cars.

Schumacher hauler bag

Coming from Schumacher is this large hauler bag for transporting all your race gear to the track. The branded bag is super easy to manoeuvre with is two position, push button, lightweight aluminium handle and robust moulded wheels. The bag also incorporates a shoulder strap for more carrying options and the handle is replaceable if somehow it gets damaged. The zips on the hauler are also super tough, with upgraded fastenings for improved durability. The bag offers five corrugated boxes, one large, three medium and one small, all of which are available separately as spare parts, with moulded supports to provide even more strength. Also incorporated into the design are an upper tool tray and a side bag for that all important setup board.

Michal Orlowski teams up with Schumacher

Schumacher welcomes young Michal Orlowski to the team. Michal, at only 13 years old, has already made A-mains at the EFRA 1/10th Offroad Euros and the very competitive EOS series. In touring cars Michal is current EFRA junior champion and Euros B finalist. The young gun from Poland will be racing the Schumacher Mi5 Evo, CAT K1 Aero, and Cougar KF, at major international races in Europe, USA, and Asia in 2015. Michal has the following to say:

“First of all I would like to say big thanks to Team Durango, for all the support I got from them over last 2 years. Especially to my Team friends  –Elliott Harper and Jorn Neumann and Gerd Strenge. With Team Durango’s change of direction, my future plans are associated only with big, international races, Euros and especially the 1:10 electric buggy Worlds in Japan in October 2015.  Now I start new adventure with Team Schumacher. Great Team, great cars and great people. I’’m really excited start racing with the cars, true engineers masterpieces which I could observe at the race tracks and in the pits. Big thanks to Team Schumacher and Robin Schumacher for the offer to support my race career. I could not wait for the first races with new team.

Schumacher pre-mounted 2WD Stagger & Spiral SC

Schumacher now have the pre-mounted low-profile Cut Stagger 2WD front tyre and the Spiral SC silver compound tyre available. Starting with the pre-mounted 1/10th buggy tyre, the control tyre of the EOS 2014/15 season comes in the carpet-specific yellow compound glued to a slim 12mm hex front wheel. The pre-mounted version does away with the hassle to glue the tyres on your own and it fits on a wide range of today’s 2WD buggies with 12mm wheel hex adapters. Also new is the Spiral SC 1/10th short course tyre in the super soft silver compound. The softest of Schumacher’s rubbers is ideal for the use on wet astroturf or dirt.
