Orlowski goes 12-in-a-row at ETS Aigen

Michal Orlwoski has extended his winning streak in the ETS to 12, the Schumacher ace winning a shortened rain effected Round 2 at Aigen in Austria.  Battling rain interruptions throughout the event, it would be Orlowski who secured the overall TQ after topping 2 of the three 4-minute qualifiers that they managed to complete.  Taking the second round of qualifying Marc Rheinard’s Awesomatix would secure P2 ahead of Mugen Seiki’s Ronald Volker and Infinity’s Bruno Coelho, the World Champion having a tough seeding and finding himself running in the third fastest heat.  With Sunday’s weather showing little possibility of any racing, it was decided to end Saturday’s action with the Modified finals.  In A1 reigning ETS Champion Orlowski controlled the race from the front followed home by Rheinard and team-mate Simon Lauter, who benefited from contact between Coelho and Volker.  In A2 it was another perfect drive from Orlowski, an early spin by Rheinard making his drive to 12-wins a row that bit easier.  Coelho would take second ahead of Volker after the German succumbed to the intense pressure from his Portuguese rival.  Winning A3 Rheinard locked in second overall while Volker held off Coelho in second to claim the final step on the podium.  Lauter would finish 5th overall behind Coelho with the second of the three new Infinity IF14 Speciales in the final securing P6 with Viktor Wilck.  With the rest of the classes decided on qualifying order, it was Awesomatix’s Olivier Bultynck who made it two from 2 having also won the season opener at Apeldoorn.  Behind the Belgian, Louis Kretschmer made it an Awesomatix 1-2 with the ARC of Enrico Jung in third.

Orlowski wins Euros Warm-up Race

Schumacher’s Michal Orlowski was the winner at the Euros Warm-up Race at the Dutch Raco2000 track in Ultrecht which will host the Electric Touring Car European Championships proper on August 22-24.  While the reigning European Champion Marc Rheinard travelled with the Awesomatix team for practice at the uniquely shaped track layout, he wouldn’t contest the Warm-up Race and Xray was without its lead driver in Modified as Alexander Hagberg was racing at eSIC in in Singapore, where he finished runner-up to Akio Sobue.  With five rounds of qualifying, it Orlowski who took the TQ ahead of Infinity’s Bruno Coelho and Mugen Seiki’s Ronald Volker with the Yokomo’s Christopher Krapp claiming P4.  With the Top 3 remaining unchanged in each of the triple A-Mains, the podium would be the same as how they lined up.  RC Maker’s Antoine Brunet was the top mover in the finals, the Frenchman qualifying P7 and finish P6 behind Jilles Groskamp and ahead of Awesomatix’s Lucas Urbain.  In Pro Stock, Max Machler took the TQ & win ahead of Awesomatix team-mate Olivier Bultynck with Xray’s Adam Iszay completing the podium.

Wins for Hall & Holdsworth – BRCA Nationals Round 3

Round 3 of the BRCA British 1:10 Offroad Nationals took place at Southport over the weekend where Tommy Hall and Josh Holdsworth took the wins.  2WD qualifying would see Team Associated’s reigning Champion Hall secure the TQ honours ahead of Schumacher’s Ben Smith, Xray’s Lee Martin and Associated’s Neil Cragg.  In the finals Hall won the opening two encounters from Smith for his second win of the season with Martin completing the podium.  In Sunday’s 4WD action, it was again Hall who secured the TQ but the defending champion, who opened his 2025 campaign with a win at Round 1 at Herts, wouldn’t complete the weekend double in the finals on the B74.2’s final outing.  Qualify P2 it would be Cragg who took A1 after Hall rolled out of the lead.  A2 would see P3 qualifier Smith win from Josh Holdsworth as Hall again struggled and finished down in P8.  It was all to play for in A3 with Josh Holdsworth grabbing the win from Martin and with it his first National 4WD win on tie break with Championship Round 2  winner Smith.  Cragg would complete the podium.  The BRCA National Championship next moves to Bury Metro on July 12/13th.
