Smokem A10-25 Caster Indicators

Australia’s Smokem Racing has released new Caster Indicators for use when setting up your ARC A10-25 1:10 Electric Touring Car.  The set if four, they make setting up and maintaining your ARC A10-25 an absolute breeze.  Made from high quality 3D-printed polymer, the Caster Indicators simply slip over the A10-25’s alloy steering hubs.  Designed to suit all popular setup stations, they even provide clearance over the bearing clamping cap screws.

Smokem ARC A10 top decks

Smokem Racing has released a number of top decks for the ARC A10 and A10’23 1:10 Electric Touring Car.  The RS-X 1-piece top deck is a slight departure from their normal RS design (which ARC had adopted with the release of the A10) and has slightly stiffer but longer flex than factory top deck, yet is not as stiff as the split top deck setups.  The RS-X is more responsive under certain conditions yet still offers a smooth feel, which was preferred by some of our drivers.  Included in the latest release are the RS Split Top Decks that feature a slight taper and a thin cutout for a more linear flex.  The Rear Split Top Deck features Smokem’s trademark recessed V-shaped brace for slightly more flex than the stock split top deck for improved corner speed. While for the front, there is a standard design with a long thin cutout for a softer, smoother steering feel. To compliment that there is a version with a recessed W-shaped brace delivering improved steering response.  Finally the RS X-Low Rear Shock Tower is designed for racers that prefer traditional vertical body mounting.  This shock tower offers a stiffer mounting platform than the factory horizontal body post brace for superior rear down force compared to the factory design.

Smokem XQ11 top decks

Smokem has release a set of new top decks options for the XQ11 1:10 competition Touring Car from Xpress.  The main 2mm RS Top Deck draws from Smokem’s experience with previous RS designs, they set out to optimise the flex characteristics of the XQ11 to yield superior lap speed over a wider range of conditions.  A major benefit of the RS design is to allow the XQ11 to accept a large range of pinion gears which is particular useful for 21.5T or higher blinky classes where big pinions are a must.  For the 2mm RS-W Split Front Top Deck is RS Split Rear Top Deck they have refined the shape of the top deck with a thinner cutout for more consistent flex characteristics.  For the front they added a thinner W-shaped cross brace to control the flex to give improved steering feel.  This cross brace can be cut to further smoothen out the steering if required.  For the rear added their trademark V-shaped cross brace for slightly more flex than the stock split top deck for improved corner speed.

Smokem Racing AT1 RS chassis

Continuing to extend its range of RS Series chassis, Smokem Racing has added one for the Xpress AT1 1:10 Electric Touring Car to the line-up.  The AT1 RS incorporates a number of design improvements that deliver major benefits over the kit chassis.  Smokem has changed the overall width to 84mm, with material added to key areas of the profile and the 1.5mm deep pocket on the battery side removed.  These key changes enhance the flex characteristics of the AT1 and improve its drivability over a wider range of track conditions and temperatures.  The RS chassis allows shorty LiPo packs to be mounted towards the front of the car, to counteract the stock AT1’s rear-biased weight distribution with three positions providing fine tuning according to the weight of your shorty pack.  The RS chassis also features a lengthened motor recess to allow racers to space their motors further forward to improve weight distribution.  An additional battery stop can be added on our RS chassis to further improve battery location/retention.

Smokem Racing A10-23 RS chassis

Smokem Racing has announced the latest chassis in their RS Series with the release of the RS chassis for the ARC A10-23 1:10 Electric Touring Car.  Through their R&D process and thorough testing with team drivers using the ARC A10, they have refined the shape of the chassis to deliver the best combination of flex characteristics while minimising scrub as much as possible.  In testing they also found improved lap speed and consistency over a wider range of conditions.  As with all the RS Series chassis, the A10-23 RS is CNC cut from 100% premium quality 2.2mm carbon fibre.

Smokem Racing R12 roll centre shim sets

Smokem Racing introduce their new carbon fibre roll centre shim sets for the ARC R12. Available in 1.0mm and 1.5mm versions, the shims are used to raise the R12 suspension arm mounts, allowing roll centres to be raised in larger increments without stacking multiple shims. Raising the roll centre releases the car from excessive grip through a corner, allowing for improved flow and corner speed. Features a unique design that allows the same shim to be used under all 1-piece toe blocks.

Smokem Racing ARC R12 RS chassis plate

Smokem Racing’s new RS chassis plate for the ARC R12 offers reduced scrub compared to the factory chassis. By removing the short arm suspension mounts, the RS design eliminates excess material from the profile that’s no longer required. The new RS chassis also moves the holes for the rear suspension blocks forward by 1mm which allows racers who use ARC’s R12 ATS system with parallel hinge pins to maintain the same wheelbase by using no shims in front of the suspension arms, something that cannot be achieved with the factory chassis without modifying the suspension arms. Meanwhile racers who run the fixed rear toe suspension can maintain their stock wheelbase by using 2mm of shims in front of the suspension arms instead of 1mm. The chassis is made from high quality 2.25mm thick carbon fibre.

Smokem Racing ARC R12 top deck

Smokem Racing’s new top deck for the ARC R12, claims to find the sweet-spot with an overall width that is in between the 2 factory top decks. They then smoothed out the profile for more consistent flex characteristics and added the V-SES top deck’s trademark V-shaped cross brace, optimally shaped in width and thickness to deliver firmer flex in its stock form. This cross brace can also be cut to increase flex, just follow the V-shaped lead-in with a Dremel. This ultimately delivers four possible top deck combinations in the one product, allowing racers to fine tune their R12 exactly to their liking.
