Smokem Racing R12 carbon fibre camber link shim set

Coming from Smokem Racing and made for the ARC R12 touring car is a carbon fibre camber link shim set. Made from 100 percent carbon fibre, their design allows racers to adjust the inner camber link position on the ARC R12 with ease. No longer there is a need to completely remove the upper link brace, add or remove spacers but with the shims drivers simply loosen the screws, remove or add shims as needed, then retighten the screws. The set comes complete with four shims in 1.0mm thickness and four shims in 1.5mm thickness.

Smokem Racing XQ10 MYD carbon fibre top deck

The latest vehicle to receive Smokem Racing’s MYD top deck treatment is the Xpress XQ10 mid-motor touring car. The MYD top deck design was meticulously developed with numerous designs and prototypes evaluated over a range of conditions by the Smokem team over a 4-month period. The designers settled on a design that features a narrow 9mm front section which we found to deliver balanced flex characteristics despite the asymmetric design. The result is improved traction, increased in-corner steering and corner speed. The MYD design ensures the top deck will never make contact with the motor or the spur gear as the chassis flexes. It also have plenty of clearance for large-pinioned spec class gearing. The 2mm carbon fibre MYD top deck can also be easily removed, making spur gear and belt changes a breeze. A distinctive feature of the MYD top decks is the large tuning hole that utilises a bearing to be fastened through to the top deck post. Using the Smokem MYD tuning kit, racers can tune the amount of “float” the top deck has to deliver different flex characteristics to best suit their needs.

Smokem Racing XQ10 soft-weave carbon fibre chassis

Smokem Racing have introduced their new 2.2mm soft-weave carbon fibre chassis for the Xpress XQ10 touring car. As the name suggests, the soft weave carbon fibre material used significantly increases chassis flex compared to the stock Xpress chassis. This increases the overall grip of the car and widens the tuning window, so the car is hooked up over a wider range of conditions. There are also minor changes to the profile and cutout shapes to further optimise the flex characteristics for the split bulkhead design of the XQ10, to offer greater stability and higher corner speed.

Smokem BD10 MYD carbon fibre top deck

The latest touring car to receive Smokem Racing’s MYD carbon fibre top deck treatment is Yokomo’s BD10 mid motor kit. Developed during the recent months, Smokem ultimately settled on a design that features a narrow 9mm front section which was found to deliver balanced flex characteristics despite the asymmetric design. The result is improved traction, increased in-corner steering and corner speed. The MYD design ensures the top deck will never make contact with the motor as the chassis flexes, with clearance for large-pinioned spec class gearing. Smokem Racing Vortex 30mm fan duct

Smokem have introduced their new Vortex fan duct for 30mm fan units. 3-D-printed for a low weight and high stability, the fan duct works with pretty much every 30mm motor fan and it helps to lower the operation temperatures of brushless motors thanks to guiding the cooling air directly onto the motor can. The 30mm version is available from now on with a 40mm heavy duty variant coming very soon. Not included though are the needed cooling fans.

Smokem X20 MYD 2.0mm carbon fibre top deck

Smokem Racing have introduced their new MYD top deck for the Serpent X20 mid-motor touring car. Machined from 2.0mm high-quality carbon fibre the top deck is of an asymmetrical design that features a narrow 9mm front section which was found to deliver balanced flex characteristics despite the asymmetric design. The results are improved traction, increased in-corner steering and corner speed. The design also ensures the top deck will never make contact with the motor as the chassis flexes, with clearance for large-pinioned spec class gearing and it can also be easily removed, making spur gear and belt changes a breeze.

Smokem Racing T4’20 MYD carbon fibre top deck

Following the release of Smokem Racing’s MYD top deck for the ARC R11 MID comes a design to suit the Xray T4 2020. The top deck is of a design that features a narrow 9mm front section which was found to deliver balanced flex characteristics despite the asymmetric design. The result is improved traction, increased in-corner steering and corner speed. The MYD design ensures the top deck will never make contact with the motor as the chassis flexes, with clearance for large-pinioned spec class gearing. The MYD top deck can also be easily removed, making spur gear and belt changes a breeze. The part is machined from high-quality 2.0mm carbon fibre and it is a direct fit.

Smokem Racing R11 Mid MYD top decks

Smokem Racing have announced their MYD series of top decks, starting with a variant for the ARC R11 Mid touring car. The upper decks have undergone extensive development and in the end, Smokem settled on a design that features a narrow 9mm front section which was found to deliver balanced flex characteristics despite the asymmetric design. The result is improved traction, increased in-corner steering and corner speed. The top deck also includes a bearing for fixing the top deck to the ARC chassis post as a tweak-free tuning option. The specific design ensures the top deck will never make contact with the motor as the chassis flexes, with ample clearance for large-pinioned spec class gearing. The top deck can also be easily removed, making spur gear and belt changes a breeze.
