In the year XII – Xray XII 1/12th scale

Xray XII 1/12th scale

Rumours about a possible 1/12 scale on-road car from Slovakian manufacturer Xray had been around for a while now but it was at last years on-road World Championship in Thailand when the first prototype cars hit the public road.

Pictures of the XII named car have been rare before the actual event although some spy shots floated around the internet showing that the first ever 1/12 scale car from Xray was very likely of a conventional ‘T-bar’ design with a rather large and ‘brushless-friendly’ power pod. Come the WC the secret was revealed and Xray factory driver Teemo Leino set some very impressive practice times with the orange toned XII. Information on a release date had not been given at that time but rumour had it that the pan car was due to be production ready by the beginning of 2009.

Paul Lemieux does double at Novak race

Xray team driver Paul Lemieux has reported back from the recent Novak race, held at Scotty Ernst’s Trackside Hobbies track in Milwaukee WI. Qualifying saw Paul TQ the two blue ribboned classes, Modified Foam and 10.5 Rubber, and with triple A-mains on the schedule there was a lot of work for those racers doing multiple classes. In the finals, Paul was challenged early on in both races by Associated driver Kevin Herbert, but Paul was able to pull away and take the win in both classes with Kevin taking the runner spot in both classes, while TOP driver Josh Cyrul took 3rd in Mod Foam and Associated racer Josh Hohnstein 3rd in 10.5 rubber.

Xray Column – At the end of the Worlds

The 25th and 26th installment in the Xray column from Xray owner and chief designer Juraj Hudy is now online. In this months column, Juraj talks about the development of their touring car platform as well as their recent trip to Thailand for the on road Worlds.

At the last minute we decided to participate at the 1/12 Worlds which meant we needed to push development and production to the limit. The final pre-production car was tested at our factory tracks as well as at private sessions in Bangkok just before the Worlds. After the final design changes and final tuning of small details, we produced the team kits some of which were shipped directly to the drivers but due the time pressure some of the drivers got their first car at the Worlds.
