1/8 Off-road Texas State Championship

Xray are reporting on the recent 1/8 Off-road Texas State Championship race held at the Toys for Big Boys track in San Antonio. The event was open for both 1/8th scale buggy and truggy and going into the event it was Jason Branham that headed the series points in Expert 1/8 buggy and Jimmy Matsler in Expert Arena truck. Qualifying saw no surprises at the top with Branham and Matsler heading their respective classes going into the finals. The Expert Arena Truck main final saw no mercy from TQ Jimmy Matsler who had a couple of bobbles early but quickly regained form and took control to win the Final, and Texas State Championship title, while Xray team mates Joe Mireless and Wayne Mann finished in 2nd and 3rd. The Expert 1/8th buggy final saw a close battle early on between Xray driver Branham and Caster Racing’s Mike Battaile as well as area local Dave Mangelsdorf driving a Losi 8ight, the former having problems and dropping down the order. Eventually Branham could get his head down and pull out a small gap to take the win, and the State title, in front of Mangelsdorf in 2nd and Hunter Kinsey in 3rd.

Xray NT1 2008 chassis

Xray have announced that their NT1 200mm platform will remain unchanged for the 2008 season but instead will be represent a better offer for customers. The 2008 car will now include a free pair of front CVD drive shafts to replace the standard front drive shafts. The included CVD drive shafts are made from high quality Hudy Spring Steel and provide smooth operation and unparalleled strength.

Xray XB8 Active Differential

Xray have released their Active Differential, which is a high-performance, adjustable front gear differential for XB8 buggies that vastly improved the buggy’s speed and handling characteristics. The special design of the internal components, using different angled segments, allows the diff gears to engage on-power to increase the forward traction and stability to the buggy, making it faster and easier to drive. Paul LeMieux wins Midwest Series

Xray have a report from their team driver Paul LeMieux on the sixth and final race of the Midwest series, which was held in Toledo, Ohio recently. After 4 rounds of qualifying it was LeMieux who was on the pole position with the NT1, ahead of Andy Powers in 2nd and Chris Doseck in 3rd, the latter having ran out of fuel on his final and potentially fastest run. In the finals it was Paul and Andy that could pull away from the pack at the start with Chris settling in to 3rd but after some time Andy started to fall back into the clutches of Doseck, who managed to get passed into 2nd and was able to go after his team mate LeMieux. Bad luck for Chris however who flamed out after a coming together with a marshall with 10 minutes to run, which dropped him down the order. In the end it was Paul LeMieux that took the win from Andy Powers in 2nd and Ira Schultz in 3rd, this win gave Paul the Midwest title with Doseck finishing as runner up in the standings.

Xray LE Alu Touring Set-Up Board

Xray have announced that they have begun selling this limited edition setup board for 1/10th scale touring cars, the same as those given to Xray racers at the European Championships in Madrid. In addition to the ultra flat, high quality board, you can now also have your name printed on the set-up board with your country ﬂag or your team name. Martin Lissau wins 2007 Danish Nats

Xray have a report from their team driver Martin Lissau on the 5th and last race of the Danish 1/10 nitro touring car championship was held in Naestved RC Model Center. “I had to finish in the top 7 to be the National champion. It was hard because I had no tools and no staff with me as all were prepared for Worlds Championship in 1/5 cars that I have attended the day after the final run. After the qualification I was second, just behind Martin Fish, another XRAY driver. The final was without any stress as Martin got interference problems so he had to retire. Jesper Hoh could take the victory in this final as I made some mistakes. I finished on the second place, Dennis Hassing could take third place”.
