Alvin Koh wins at RaceWorks Elite Racing Series Rd5

The fifth round of the RaceWorks Elite Racing Series took place under the best possible weather conditions at the RaceWorks on-road circuit in Singapore. In qualifying, it was Team Tamiya SG’s Nicholas Lee, fresh from his win in the 200mm nitro class at the Jakarta Open, who set the pace, securing TQ honours ahead of team-mate Alvin Koh and team ARC Singapore’s Nelson Lee. The final were a nightmare for Nicholas as he suffered technical issues in all four legs. This allowed Alvin Koh to complete a clean sweep of wins in the finals. Team Xray Singapore’s PY Tang finished 2nd while Nelson Lee took 3rd for his first podium of the season. The win let Alvin Koh stretching his lead in the overall standings over PY Tang. Nelson Lee moved up one spot to stand in 3rd after his strong performance this round. In the team standings Team Tamiya SG further consolidated its lead over Team Xray Singapore, while Team ARC Singapore holds the 3rd position. The next round of the season will be on 4th of August.

Bowie Ginting wins 13.5T at Xcampus Challenge Rd1

The First round of the Xcampus Challenge Championship was held at the SIS track in Jakarta. Before the race the organisers modified the track layout and added another technical corner to make the track more challenging. The race was run mainly in 13.5T and FWD classes with 40 competitors attending in total. The 13.5T Boosted qualifying saw Bowie Ginting place his VBC onto the TQ spot with 17 laps in 5.07. Ronny Suwarto was next with his Xray, 7 seconds behind the pole man. Peter Anthony (Yokomo) and Ronald Kasengkang (Tamiya) also scored 17 laps and lined-up in 4th and 5th respectively while young hotshot, Muhammad Izzah was a bit shy of the 17 laps with 16 laps in 5.00,0.017 ahead Teddy Syach who placed 6th. In the FWD class Anton Santoso TQ’d 3 seconds from Christian Mamesah for took the runner-up spot.

Volker is Champion

Ronald Volker is the 2012/13 Yokomo Euro Touring Series Champion.  The German clinched his third consecutive title by securing his first ever asphalt win in the World famous championship with another tone to tone victory in the second leg of the A-Main at the Hudy Racing Arena in Slovakia. The result sees the factory Yokomo driver become the most crowned ETS driver having shared the honour for the past 12-months with reigning World Champion Jilles Groskamp who was champion of the first two seasons of the series. Despite shadowing Volker throughout the second 5-minute main, Marc Rheinard, the 2009/10 Champion, couldn’t catch his arch rival declaring afterwards that the ‘championship wasn’t lost here but at the start of the season’, the Tamiya ace failing to make the podium at the opening three races of the season.

Volker gets one hand on ETS title with Leg 1 win

Ronald Volker moved a step closer to retaining the Yokomo Euro Touring Series title which he has held for the last two season with a tone to tone win in the opening A-Main of the season finale at the Hudy Racing Arena in Slovakia. Starting from pole position, the factory Yokomo driver took the win by over 3-seconds from team-mate Yannic Prumper after a roll by the No.2 starting Tamiya of Marc Rheinard dropped his only title rival back down the order with the 3-time World Champion eventually finishing sixth.

Yugo Nagashima dominates Speed King Tour East Rd2

The second round of the Kazuki Endo organised Speed King Tour East 2013 took place at the World Jam Racing track in the Gunma prefecture. Local hotshot Yugo Nagashima (Yokomo) took TQ and won the race in front of 2007 2WD Off-Road World and multiple national champion Hayato Matsuzaki (Yokomo). Yugo’s high school class mate Hayato Ishioka (Kyosho) finished 3rd. As first round winner Naoto Matsukura did not attend the second round, Yugo is now points leader in the championship. The next round of the series will take place at the famous Yatabe Arena in September.

Ronald Volker is Top Qualifier for the season finale of the Yokomo Euro Touring Series after the Yokomo driver carried through his form from yesterday’s opening two qualifiers to top the third round this morning at the Hudy Racing Arena to put pole position for Sunday’s title deciding A-Main beyond the reach of his rivals.  It was the perfect morning for Yokomo as they also locked up overall TQ honours in Slovakia with their Pro Stock team driver and outgoing champion Zdenko Kunak.

Perfect day for Volker at Hudy Arena

It was the perfect day for Ronald Volker at the Hudy Racing Arena in Slovakia as the Team Yokomo driver topping the opening two rounds of qualifying at the title deciding season finale of the 2012/13 Yokomo Euro Touring Series. Having topped timed practice earlier in the day, the German who is chasing a third consecutive ETS title opened qualifying with a TQ run which he then backed up with an even faster 5-minute run in Q2 which brought Day 1 of the event to a close. Once again it was Tamiya’s Viktor Wilck who was the closest challenger, the Swede again posting the second fastest time in a Round that saw tyre strategy play a big part, Serpent’s Marc Fischer benefiting from near new tyres to set the 3rd quickest run.

Team Yokomo’s Ronald Volker got the finale of the 2012/13 Yokomo Euro Touring Series off to the best start possible as he TQ’d the opening round of qualifying at the Hudy Racing Arena in Slovakia. The title protagonist took the first of the five rounds of qualifying by 2.2 seconds from Tamiya’s Viktor Wilck who for a time was setting the early pace. Marc Rheinard completed the Top 3, the German’s hopes that a binding CVD in practice was the reason for his lack of pace not turning out to be the case.
