Garcia wins Much More Cup 2008

Garcia wins Much More Cup 2008

We received a report from last weekends International Much More indoor Cup, run at the Vuelta Rapida indoor track in Avila, Spain. In the 4wd class it was Spanish Factory Much More driver Roberto Garcia, driving his Tamiya 501x, that took the win while in the 2wd class it was Jose Miguel Cantos, racing his Associated B4FT, that took top honours. All the best Spanish Electric off road drivers were in attendance and there was a close battle for the wins in both classes. High temperature at the track of over 30ยบ made the cars and electronics suffer but the drivers had a great weekend and there was a great racing atmosphere.

Chris Doughty wins Eden Park National

Chris Doughty wins Eden Park National

Chris Doughty, driving the LRP powered Atomized B44, took Atomic-Carbon’s maiden BRCA National win at Eden Park Raceway near London last weekend. The finals were eventful for Chris, in Leg 1 both front tyres became detached from both wheels, but Chris managed to hold off the pack to take a 2nd place, in Leg 2 Chris brushed a track marker on the warm up lap which damaged a front wishbone, thanks to quick work by the Atomic-Carbon team, the cells from his car were transferred to Andy Griffths Atomized B44 which had just come off the track from the previous final. Even with the worn tyres and yellow wheels Chris soon adapted to the differently setup car and managed a 5th place. In the 3rd leg Chris managed to get up to 1st place, with many cars retiring Chris played it safe and didn’t try to clear the big double jumps and came home to take the win. Expect a full report from our friends at oOple very soon.

Bart Wubben wins Dutch EP TC Nats Rd3

Bart Wubben wins Dutch EP TC Nats Rd3

The 3rd round of the Dutch Electric Touring car National Championship was held this weekend at the small and technical Gouda track in the centre of the country. The weather behaved and the racers had dry, but windy, conditions to contend with. The qualifications saw Xray racer Hugo vd Berg on the top of the time sheets, just ahead of Serpent racers Rob Janssen and round 2 winner Bart Wubben. In the 2 leg final, the first leg saw some mistakes from Hugo, which left Bart to open a gap up front followed by Tamiya driver Arjen Potharst. In his recovery driver Hugo managed to get back to 2nd, however making contact with Arjen and Rob on the way which dropped Arjen to 8th and Rob back behind a fast Stefan Jansen. Bart took the win from Hugo, with Stefan in 3rd followed closely by Rob. In the 2nd leg Rob made a good start and could get passed Hugo who was then hit by another car, taking him out of the race. Bart was close behind Rob and with some team play at work, he let his quicker team mate through and thats how they finished with Bart Wubben taking the overall win from Rob Janssen in 2nd and Kyosho racer Stefan Jansen 3rd. In the stock class it was Micheal Lepelaar that took the win ahead of Vasco Christiaanse in 2nd and ETS round 3 winner George Spitteler in 3rd.
