The North West Nitro club in the UK hosted round 2 of the BRCA Truggy and E-Buggy Mini Series Nationals last weekend. In the Nitro Truggy class it was SWorkz’s Elliott Boots with the overall TQ and he also came out on top after the 30-minute A-main event following a pretty dominant performance. Wes Jolly (Tekno RC) would end the day on the 2 spot, already three laps down as Serpent’s Tony Evdoka came in a fine 3rd, another two laps behind.
The Czech RC MCC Brno club held round 3 of the club racing series this past weekend in pretty hot weather conditions. In the Formula EFRA class it was Lukas Hoch with a pretty dominant TQ some four seconds in front of Tomas Sova. When the dust had settled after the four A-mains, it was still Lukas on top after winning all four legs for the overall victory in front of Tomas Sova in 2nd and Marek Sova in 3rd. Ales Horak and Marek Hradisky came in 4th and 5th respectively.

Thunder Road Hobbies of Moline, Illinois held their Thunder Road Offroad Race this past Sunday. After sweeping the opening round of the Deuce Alternate Race on Saturday, Tekno RC’s Jared Wiggins was in full swing and also took the overall TQs in Nitro and E-Buggy at the Thunder Road race. The 20-minute Nitro Buggy main saw Jared leading the way and he would bring home the win with a 3-lap margin from Ben Watson on the runner-up spot. Wade Aronson would end the day on the 3 spot, some 8.3 seconds behind. Over in E-Buggy would complete the sweep by taking the win in the single 10-minute A-main event, leaving behind Ben Watson in 2nd, a lap down. Gregory Tennies came in 3rd overall, another lap down.
The 2020 Nitro Stampede Race was held in Calgary, Canada this past weekend, attracting over 90 entries. In the premier 1/8th Nitro Buggy class it was Ty Tessmann with the overall TQ and also the win in the 30-minute A-main event, leaving behind Carter Herasymiuk in 2nd, a lap down. Peter Toszer came in 3rd overall some two seconds behind Carter. In the E-Truggy class it was Rob Sorjonen with the overall TQ and also the wins in the opening two A-main for an early overall win. A3 winner, Britt Toszer came in 2nd overall from Mike Bridges in 3rd. Over in the 1/10th scale classes and in 2WD Buggy it was again Ty Tessmann with the overall TQ and win as Mark Hughes and A3 winner, Anthony Bond came in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Round 5 of the Thornhill Championship series was held this past weekend with 85 entries for the nitro and electric off-road classes. Expert Nitro Buggy saw Ethan Lefebvre (Xray) with the overall TQ after the two rounds of qualifying and he also came out on top in the E-Buggy class despite struggling a bit in the opening qualifier. In the opening stages of the 20-minute A-main event Ethan’s car was hard to drive and he made a few mistakes after battling with Dillon Caldwell (HB Racing), however after the first fuel stop Ethan’s car felt normal again and he was able to put in clean laps till the end and take the win some 15 seconds in front of Brandon Rose (Agama) while Dillon Caldwell came in 3rd overall, another 7.2 seconds behind.

The rescheduled round 1 of the 2020 JBRL 1/10 Electric Off-Road Series was hosted by Coyote Hobbies in Victorville, California this past weekend, attracting 180 entries. In the 13.5T 4WD Expert Buggy class it was Yokomo’s Matt Gonzales with the overall TQ and he would also dominate the single 6-minute A-main event, leaving behind Kamryn Ayers in 2nd, a lap down. 0.6 seconds behind Kamryn it was Doug Lariviere (Team Associated) who would round out the podium result.

APEX Raceway and Hobbies of Murfreesboro, Tennessee will host the 2020 U.S. VTA Nationals from the 17th to 20th of September. This year the organizers are looking to make the event the best its ever been, offering many great things including low entry prices, more practice and setup time, 1st and 2nd places trophy for B mains, plenty of door prizes, and many more things to be added later. The event will still have the signature 1-minute VTA qualifier as well as the all important TQ sign-up and paid, that gets a free entry to the VTA class. This year track owner Eric “EA” Anderson has made some very important changes and upgrades to the track and the layout will be very racer friendly while still being technical for the most advance driver. Round 2 of the TRCA Offroad Series was held at the newly established Titan RC Arena in Warsaw, Poland last weekend. The event saw the running of Modified and Stock Buggy classes as well as Truck Pro and Mini categories and in 2WD Mod Buggy it was Bartek Kramza (Xray) with the overall TQ from Jeremiasz Kramza (Schumacher) in 2nd. A1 and A2 then again went in Bartek’s favour as he took home the win in both legs to take the overall from Jeremiasz in 2nd. Sebastian Migal (Xray) came in 3rd to round out the podium.
