The final round of Spanish GT8 Nationals took place in Valencia recently. Toni Santana was in full swing and by bringing home the wins in both 1/8th Nitro GT and Electric GT he would be awarded with the overall championship titles in both categories. In the Nitro class David Revollo and Borja Gutarra would come in 2nd and 3rd respectively while Vicente Saez and Enrique Jarque rounded out the Electric top 3.
Xray have announced the signing of British Junior National Champion Edward Callan to their UK racing team. The BRCA F2 National Champion and Worksop Masters winner will campaign Xray’s XB2 and XB4 platforms at all BRCA National as well as select European events and he has the following to say:
I’m extremely excited to join Team Xray as they’ve launched the latest spec XB2 & XB4 cars. I’m looking forward to settling in with my new team mates and hitting the track with the new cars over the winter season and at the BRCA Nationals and the EFRA European Championships held here in the UK next summer. The second round of the 2019/20 Schumacher Winter Series presented by the Louth Radio Control Car Club took place this past weekend. Chris lovely who took the top spot in the opening round of the series would set the initial pace with his Xray in the 13.5 class. However he was pushed hard by the returning Alex Brocklebank and the new Schumacher Mi7. Joseph Cocking would place his Yokomo BD9 Medius into 3rd ahead of the X-rays of Callum Chapman, Andrew Green and Daniel Burks.

The RC Meeting race was held in 2WD and 4WD Buggy classes at the FRCK Furulund club in Sweden this past weekend. In the 2WD Buggy class it was Jessica Palsson with a clean sweep in the triple qualifiers, leaving behind Micke Palsson and Pontus Magnusson in 2nd and 3rd respectively. The triple A-main events again saw Jessica excel and with pretty dominant performances in all three A-finals she would secure the overall from Mike in 2nd and Jonas Johansson in 3rd.

Bill’s RC Hobby Shop And Raceway of Marion, Indiana held their Ice Breaker race this past weekend, attracting 85 entries. 2WD Modified Buggy saw JP Richards taking the day’s win, starting from pole position into the single 6-minutes A-main event. Ean Reilley came in 2nd, some 7.8 seconds behind as Adam Rayls rounded out the top 3 podium result.

The opening round of the 11th Annual Rockstar Winter Off-Road Series hosted by PDX RC Underground saw an impressive 80 entries for the seven classes. In the 2WD Modified Buggy category it was Yokomo’s Joe Pillars with the overall TQ and win from Xray’s Travis Harker on the 2 spot. Yokomo’s Tanner Day would complete the top 3 result.

The Var Automodelisme Pierrefeu club in France played host to the the annual Pierrefeu GP this past weekend. The event attracted the usual breed of national and international drivers and in both 1/8th Nitro Buggy and 1/8th Electric Buggy it was Kyosho’s Riccardo Berton with the overall TQ after the triple qualifiers. Unfortunately soaking wet weather made it impossible to run the finals, meaning the overall results would be based on the qualifying results, handing Ricciardo a double win as Xray’s Yannick Aigoin and Patrick Auvinet Jr. came completed the top 3 results.

Round 3 of the Danish Electric On-road Nationals were held at the Tinglev club this past weekend. The event saw 90 entries from Denmark and Germany and in the Touring Stock class it was Xray’s Patrick Folman with the overall TQ and also the win after the triple A-main events, leaving behind Tim Benson in 2nd and Awesomatix’ Steven M. Olsen in 3rd.
