Jacques Libar takes Luxembourg Nationals opener

The opening round of the Luxembourg Electric On-road Nationals was hosted by the RCCM club and held at the Turelbach Center in Mertzig. The track was tight and technical with the grip kicking in at a high level once a couple of practice heads had be run. After the triple qualifiers on Sunday Jacques Libar came out on top to take the overall TQ and the pole position for the triple A-mains. The opening A-main then also went to Jaques after five flawless minutes but A2 was a different affair as an error in the opening stages cost him dearly. He made up for it in the third and decisive main though as he again came out on top to take the overall win with Gilles Choque in second and Dirk Rischard third.

Alan Scoggie takes Irish 1/8th Nitro Buggy title

Alan Scoggie takes Irish 1/8th Nitro Buggy title

The last round of the Irish Nationals took place the past weekend but wet weather spoiled the fun. A number of rounds have been run in the year but Monaghan has been subject to unfortunate weather conditions consistently. The second round there was rained off mid way and unfortunately the rerun was also. Most of the guys where sad as the track team had made the place more comfortable and consistent, the track would have made for a great race final. So the championship fall back to 2/3 scoring rounds and as ever was tight at the top. Ultimately Alan Scoggie took the title of Irish national champion from Gary Baird on the second place and young Andrew McClean (all Agama/Bullitt) third. In Electric Buggy Gary Baird (Agama) took the title with Barkley (Agama) second.
