Round 5 of the Alpencup was held at the RC Club Wyland in Switzerland on a pretty technical astroturf track. In the 2WD class Nico Schmid took the overall TQ after the four rounds of qualifying and he would be able to conserve his qualifying performance by taking wins in A2 and A3 to walk away with the overall victory from Philip Jeisy and Gregi Gassmann in second and third respectively.
The inaugural running of the Full Throttle Champs was held at Banana RC Raceway in Dallas, Texas with the race kicking off the carpet season in the United States. The track layout was tight and technical; challenging all drivers to be smooth and avoid mistakes. The traction was high as usual on the CRC black carpet. 74 entries were in attendance between the seven classes. The event utilized a unique 3-day racing format. Day one was all open practice. Day two was three rounds of rocket round qualifying and bump-up B-mains for the last spot in the A in each class. Finally, day 3 was triple mains for everyone.

The Nandos RC Challenge was held at the high-grip indoor asphalt track at Welkom RC Club in South Africa. The drivers were seeded according to their 2015 National results and the current national standings and then divided into the Invitational, Cup and Plate groups in Touring modified. The challenge took on the Reedy-style heads-up racing over five rounds. In Modified Invitational local driver and track owner Antonio Caroli had an excellent day at the track and won all the races with fast and consistent runs. He was however kept honest by youngsters Jacques Myburg and Ashley Hurley and the experienced Anderton Smith also pushed hard to beat Antonio. The other drivers Willie du Plooy, Shaun Schutte and Andre Greeff showed good pace and used this event for preparation of the upcoming Nationals in September.

JConcepts, in conjunction with R/C Madness in Enfield, Connecticut, present the 2nd Annual Outdoor Turf Nationals from on the 10th and 11th of September. The dedicated AstroTurf surface created by Chris Marcy combines a large outdoor venue with the grippy green surface used at international events around the world including the 2015 IFMAR World Championships. A multitude of classes are offered for all skill levels and accomplishment. Round five of the Austrian Electric On-road Nationals was held in Laa an der Thaya and hosted by the Mod RaceLaa04 club. In the Touring Modified class Patrick Gollner took the TQ from team mate Manuel Gremlica and Dominic Vogl. The finals then were a pretty easy affair for the pole position holder and with flawless races he took the overall win in front of the fighting duo of Dominic and Manual. At the end Dominic would prevail to take the runner-up spot from Manuel.

The 1st Annual Full Throttle Championships were hosted by Banana Raceway in Richardson, Texas. The Touring Modified class was won by current ROAR Carpet National Champion, Chris Adams, who took the opening two A-mains while Christian Tabush came out fastest the third, handing him the overall runner-up spot. Kyle Klingfurth, who had a mixed A-mains with an 8th, 4th and 2nd place, rounded out the podium in third.
The recent German Electric On-road Nationals saw Maximilian Stähle walking away with the Junior Stock class title. The Modified class Senior title went to veteran race Uwe Reimers while the Stock class Senior title was taken by Bernhard Böhm.

The 8th Annual Ready to Run Raceway Summer Challenge Trophy Race and Enduro was hosted by the Ready to Run Raceway club in scenic Vancouver, Canada. The track was just five minutes away from the Vancouver International Airport making it very accessible out of town participants looking for fun, close and exciting racing. As pre-entries came in, the Summer Challenge was shaping up to be the largest outdoor on-road event in Canada of 2016, and those entries did not disappoint as RRR set a new high in 2016. A special element to this event is the amount of track time for all racers. Saturday was open practice for Electric and Nitro followed by three rounds of qualifying, additional practice and single mains for all Electric and Nitro classes with just one bump spot per main.
