Risser & Konnings take Belgium buggy titles

After the 7th round of the combined Belgian and Dutch 1/10th Eletric Buggy championships Nicolas Risser (Team C) and Jean-Yves Konnings (Yokomo) grabbed this year’s Belgian championship titles. In 2WD Nicolas won the championship for the second year in a row, leaving Wouter Wijnen (Yokomo) and Bruno Heremans (X Factory) behind in 2nd and 3rd place respectively. The 4WD class had Jean-Yves Konnings taking the overall win from Erik Michiels (Team Durango) and David Pauwels (Xray).

Matias & Coelho win at Portuguese buggy nats Rd3

The 3rd round of the Portuguese 1/10th Electric Off–road national championship was held last weekend. In the 2WD class Xray’s Miguel Matias made a clean sweep by winning all qualifying rounds and also the finals to take the day’s win and with it the national championship title thanks to his success at the previous two rounds. Behind him Nuno Roque (Team Durango) ended the 3rd round on the runner–up spot whole Marco Timoteo (GR Proto) completed the podium in 3rd.

David Perez wins at Spanish TC nats Rd3

The 3rd round of the Spanish Electric Touring Car nationals took place in Telde, Gran Canaria. The race started with practice on Friday while four out of six qualifying rounds were run on Saturday. David Perez (Xray) was the man to beat during the weekend as he TQ’d all four rounds on Saturday and he also took the two remaining rounds on Sunday to grab the overall TQ for the finals. In the following A-mains David was on a mission again, sweeping all three legs to take the overall win and also the lead in the national championship. Toni Rheinard (Yokomo) ended the race in 2nd place while John Hernandez (Yokomo) rounded out the podium in 3rd.

Antoine Rossetti joins TeamC/Absima

Antoine Rossetti joins TeamC/Absima

Well known French driver and vice European Champion Antoine Rossetti has teamed up with TeamC and Absima. In his 2015 campaign he will focus on 1/8th E-buggy racing with the brand new T8ev3 and he will also be present at selected 1/10th scale event to represent the brand and French distributer GVP Racing. Antoine has the following to say about the deal:

I am very excited to return to RC racing with TeamC. In the past two years I learned many things with Durango and I would like to thank them. Now it is time for a new challenge. I will drive mainly in 1/8th brushless the next year with some invitationals in 1/10th and I made this decision the day when I tried the new T8Ev3. I am pleased to be with TeamC/Absima and I hope to see you on the tracks in 2015.

Indonesia Electric On-road National Champs – Report

The Red Carpet track in Semarang, Central Java played host for the 2014 Indonesia National Electric On-road championships that were held in the 3 classes of Touring Car modified, Touring Car 13.5T boosted and FWD 13.5T non-boost. Following regional qualifiers the championship now culminated with the country’s best racers in attendance. The Modified TC class, run on Volante V3 hand-out tyres like the two other classes, had Teddy Syach TQ-ing in front of M.Hijrah in 2nd and Bayu in 3rd place. In the Touring Stock class, run with Speed Passion MMM motors, young Izzah took the TQ from Ade in 2nd and Ronald in 3rd spot. The FWD class, again run with hand-out Speed Passion MMM motors saw again 13-years old Izzah lead the scoring sheets in front of Imam Liyanto and Reynaldi K.

Essex Summer Series Race – Report

Essex Summer Series Race – Report

The first ever Essex Summer Series event took place this weekend at the Adur Model Car Club. Organised by the same team behind the popular Essex Winter Series indoor championship, the event had been put together after racers asked the team to take their concept to outdoor tracks to compliment the carpet season. The event was supported by CPD Racing, LRP, HPI and Strawberry Race Designs, along with Keep IT Simple. The Adur club had put in a huge amount of effort and the track was in perfect condition for the event. The organisers also brought in a huge marquee for everyone to pit in to create a fun and social atmosphere.

The 2014 ROAR Region 11 1/8 Championships were held at Skagit River Raceway in Burlington, WA. The 1-day event saw practice rounds early in the morning followed by 3 rounds of qualifying and triple A-mains for the E-buggy class. Jesse Munn (Kyosho) managed to get the overall TQ with a clean 2nd round run by just 4 tenths of a second over the TLR of Jonathon Cantrell. Mike Dana would qualify 3rd with his Tekno and Shon Serles 4th with his Kyosho.

1st Annual Katsu Classic – Report

1st Annual Katsu Classic – Report

The 1st Annual Katsu Classic was hosted by Adventure RC in Louisville, Kentucky with over 160 entries including team drivers from Kyosho, Team Associated and TLR. The format consisted of 3 rounds of rocket round qualifying and double A-Mains with the two biggest classes being 2WD and 4WD Modified Buggy. The 2WD class saw JP Richards (TLR) taking the TQ from Kyosho’s Luke Richards.
