EWS Summer Edition 2017 – Announcement

The EWS Events team has announced the return of the EWS Summer Series, a two-round on-road electric series taking place in the south of the UK. After requests from racers for a return of the events, the Series will kick off on July 15th and 16th at the home of the last two EWS Summer events, the Adur Model Car Club near Brighton, before concluding two months later with the second event on September 2nd and 3rd at a track to be announced shortly. The series will cater for Modified and Super Stock Touring Cars – using the well-known ETS-spec Volante 36 tyre build. Each event will run to the popular “one-and-a-half day” format, minimising costs and overnight stays but maximising track time. Entries for round 1 are open now and more information can be found on the official EWS website here and on social media here.

With the event selling out in a short amount of time, the JConcepts Stock Nationals has been one of the most anticipated races in the region.

Ofir Avitan wins at Israeli League Rd8

Round 8 of the 1/8th Nitro Buggy Israeli League was held at the Omer Ring track in fantastic weather conditions. After the four rounds of qualifying it was Ido Carmon to take the TQ honours. At the start of the 40-minutes main final Ido was not able to take profit of his pole position as he had a bad start which dropped him down the field. This allowed Yaniv Sivan, who came from the 2 spot on the grid, to take over the lead and to open a gap on the field. It wasn’t for long though as a few mishaps and a flame out promoted Ofir Avitan into the lead. However Yaniv managed to recover and to hold onto the 2nd position while Ido Carmon had fuel flame out which he could not recover from. Meanwhile there was a battle between Aviv Maymon and Or Balulu for 3rd. Aviv had some issues and lost valuable time which promoted Or Balulu into 3rd as Asi Bitton and Gil Harush were in the fight for the 4th place. Ultimately Gil Harush had the upper hand but up front Ofir Avitan would walk away with the win from Yaniv Sivan in 2nd and Or Balulu 3rd.
